Well that's odd. I never picked Mel as a suicidal type.

Catholics think they`re better cause they have a Pope and C Priests aren`t allowed to get in on with the ladies.
But we all know that some of them did the horizontal mambo, while others.....well you know.

Not hardly. If he was his father he'd be advocating we send them there.

What surprised me, was the hilarious poll MSNBC had...
Is Mel Gibson one bead short of a full rosary?
Of the nearly 150,000 voters, 62% voted yes.

The SSPX is in schism, rather, so Gibson is a schismatic, not quite a heretic but similar in nature.

He's no Catholic. The Pope has aknowledged Evolution, said there is no Hell and established links with all important Christian religions (saying, for example, that catholics can attend a Protestant church service if there's not a Catholic one around. Gibson is a fundie of a whole different level

Meh, they would been declared heretics before the church went soft.

That's a useful review of the Church as She Stands.

Incidently, though saying Roman Catholic Church is correct in a certain respect, it does not actually refer to the whole Church--just to the part that concerns the Latin rite. Granted, that is about 98% of the church's faithful; but many other minor rites still actively worshipped in are also in communion with Rome, but are not Roman Catholic. The correct term in referring to all of them together is "Holy Catholic Church".

Exactly what does SSPX stand for?

I understand it's some sort of Roman Catholic splinter faction, though.

The Society of Saint Pius X, a group of conservative Catholics who schismed with the church because they felt it was going soft.

Here is their homepage, read all about them.

Scientology is an invented religion created by late mediocre science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. Its entire purpose was to make him rich. It has no relation to Catholicism.
