IQ test. (Sigh, sigh; I know. Why not give it a go?)

Post by victorhadin »

I rarely do these things, but the BBC 'test-the-nation' one tends towards being decent, and having an average which is actually (well; theoretically) at 100 (something most internet tests tend to ignore).

So hey. Take it. It won't take long:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/iq/

(I got 120, though my language score was through the floor. I wouldn't be a good Countdown contestant.)

*Hates anagrams.* ;)

Now shame me with your superior scores as I know you are all about to do. :D

EDITY for detail:

Language: 7/11.
Memory: 11/12.
Logic: 20/22.
Numbers: 10/12.
Perception: 11/12.

Oh; and only ONE go. No repeating, cheaters. ;)

(Should you get below 100, don't worry. Statistically, half of all people do, and you can always make an excuse... like excessive alcohol or whatever.) 8)

IQ=112

Language 11/12 (I'm a little surprised about that, most people know my spelling is awful)
Memory 9/12
Logic 19/22
Numbers 7/12
Perception 8/12

I only did it as I was bored, I couldn't really give a crap about my IQ, I know I know enough to get by and that's all that matter to me.

You don't have to justify yourself, mate. The vast majority of us feel it to be a big pile of giraffe-poo, but boredom is universal.

A little odd for me... normally my perception would be higher but my math lower. The jigsaws were strange to me.

I usually land around 140, but this thing will only work for British citizens unless I lie to it.

My favorite bit was memorizing the columns of words for the memory test. For the sake of some pathetic posterity, I'll record it here.

I pictured Cinderella (pretty dish) in her (tattered dress) at her (old house) with a (red car) in the driveway. Inside, a (sad elephant) in (huge trousers) was amusing to a (happy dog) standing next to a (tiny cat). Windows were covered by a set of (long curtains).

Shoot, dern short term memory has already lost the 10th item. Ah well, that's probably why I only got 11/12 for memory. :)

Note for My Past Self; It was a sulking elephant and the 10th item was a New Plant.

Right. Lied to it. 126.

Go me. This is possibly the lowest I've ever scored. Is the number pad on a standard British phone the same as on an American one? It asked me where the zero key was on a standard British phone, and I just had to guess at where it is on ours.

And I'm from Londonderry now. Can I join the Evil Brit Conspiracy? :D

I got 111 but some of those questions were geared specifically to the english and I am not one of them, though I'm sure I boosted a stat for the Londoners.

Bwahaha, I got 76!

My brother kept popping MSN up when I was trying to do the test and I ended up guessing half of the stuff before the timer ran out. :P

The only ones I had difficulty (minus interruptions) were the maths ones because mental arithmetic sucks to me.

Well tell your brother to go screw himself and leave you alone. I did that when one of my friends popped up AIM on me. Better yet, don't close the window. Minimize it, and then he can't make it pop up anymore.
