My like of him is mostly he can work in any blue deck whatsoever(or some way of getting blue mana)...though they've come out with a couple Artifacts that are weird but can be very ugly.

One such is the Mycosynth Lattice.

Cost 6

The effect are All Permanents become artifacts in addtion to other types.

All cards that aren't in the play, spells and permanents are colorless.

Players may spend man as though it were any color.

For only 6 Mana?!?!?
And I thought we were just bitching when we complained the new cards were getting too powerful. That one card does the work of 3!

Yeup...and I tried that with my three Memnarch's I have in a Artifact/Blue deck.

Truly is a nasty, nasty, nasty card. I took anything and everything and with 2 full Urza's sets out, it was beyond over. A bit long to come out with everything but the Artifact/Blue can hold well even before the Mychosynth. Now with it...it's just simply a mean hold and grab deck.

Oh and new fave for my Green/White Giant Weenie deck(basically a few low casting costs weenies that equipped become easily 3/2~3/5 by turn 2....by turn 5 I have enough kill)

Thunderstaff

Cost: 3

If Thunderstaff is untapped and a creature would deal combat damage to you, prevent 1 of that damage.

2, Tap: Attacking creatures get +1/0 till end of turn.

Literally four of these suckers allow me to be invulnerable up 4/4 creatures.

Don't let it bug you. If anything, the game is balanced enough so that your decks of yesteryear can still step on the best whipper snapper of today.

Don't worry...it's basically trying to do a new type of Card(Equipments) Most the rest are pretty much older cards with new restrictions and many older cards are nastier. :)

LadyTevar, not to burst the bubble on your overpowered card rant, but they made a card that had the same affect for only 3 mana. It was called celestial dawn, and the only times I have seen it played was in fun decks based around the Elder dragon legends (pre-invasion) and keeper as a blood moon counter.

The more you know.

Well will have the great fun of trying out my slightly modified White/Green Weenie deck in a local type 2 tourney(eh I already know what I'll be facing, Elf decks, sliver decks...maybe a couple others...dammit I want to see a Myr deck or some such this time around.)

I'm tempted to spend a handful of dollars to put together a lunatic equipment-based combo deck. Preferably featuring Worldslayer and Spellbinder with things like Darksteel Gargoyle and Vulshok Battlemaster/Savage Beating respectively.

Let me blow your mind if you want to break Mycosynth Lattice. Team it up with Null Rod, nuff said. From then on it's welder beats till they die.

Oh yes... Shatterstorm would be such a wonderful anti-Mir card.... Now where'd I put them........

Ooo... so many good cards that would kill an Artifact deck... they'll all be 'victims of the 3-toed fairy'

Got first with my ultra enchanced Green/White Weenie(let's say a few difference in creature can make suddenly me coming out with a 1/1...who then equipped can easily become a 3/3 ~ 5/5 at turn 2...barring any heavy mana pumping)

Only deck I beat with luck is an Arcbound Artifact Deck...which if done correctly is can make insanely large nasty creatures(ah the glory that is Holy Day Isocroned...and the other player not have artifact destruction of sorts)

And this was Type 2...so I couldn't truly come out with the much, much uglier nastier Green/Whites I have.

I've got a shatterstorm, and a Shattering Pulse (I think that's the name). No better way to clear artifacts than those two.

As long they NEVER do Mycosynth Lattice with your shatter storm

And there are cheaper artifact destruction cards then Pulse(Oxidize...which I use for Green or Green/white)

One guy had a deck that did that for his Artifact destruction(it's weird...but let's put it this way...he had an artifact called Hum of the Radix that made you pay 1 for each artifact you had if you're casting an artifact spell...so given now everything is an artifact...there you go)

And Glissa for artifact destruction, along with a few other green cards.

True, Pulse is a hefty price, but being able to peg multiple artifacts with one card is nice. I also have uhhh... Energy Flux for artifact control, upkeep of 2 for all artifacts in play. Hehehe. All of these cards are in my 'fun' deck.

Also for the utter helluva of it...created a Type 2/1.5 Red Burn deck.

Ah, Fireball...you were missed.
