1500 droid starfighters per ship? WTF?
Remember, those big donuts are converted cargo ships. Quite large, cavernous empty spaces.

Yeah but where did he get that number from? The SSD only carried 12 squadrons, 1500 is 125 squadrons.

The arms of the Trade Federation battleships were all hanger bay. A Star Destroyer has much of it's internal space dedicated to other things.

From theforce.net unofficial encycolpedia
Trade Federation Battleship
based on Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Incorprated's huge, ring-shaped LH-3210 cargo freighters, the Trade Federation's battleships have been heavily converted for military use. This conversion makes them perfect for the Federation's use, as unsuspecting targets don't realize they're under attack until it's too late. Measuring 3,170 meters in diameter, these battleships have huge storage areas in the outer hull, which surrounds the central, spherical command center. The Federation equips each battleship with 1,500 Vulture droid starfighters, 50 C-9979 landing ships, 550 MTT troop transports, 6,250 AAT battle tanks, and 1,500 troop carriers. The ships are powered by a pair of Rendili Proton 2 sublight drives, supported by an array of Proton 12 drives as backup. Weaponry is limited by the original, non-military configuration, and consists of 42 quad-laser batteries spaced around the outer hull. (SW1, X1, IG1)

"In the new trilogy, Anakin Skywalker portrays a damning indictment of technology's modern dehumanization of mankind through Hayden Christensen's lifeless, almost inhuman performance. There is a river of tragedy in every robotic line he utters, a horrific monotonal indication of his cyborgal fate."-Dr. Albert Oxford, PhD

TF would probably win this, but it would be a fairly close-run thing IMHO. The Borg probably outnumber them pretty badly, and the TF is perhaps the only organization I can think of that has worse tactical sense than the Borg. They have vastly superior shields, but they apparently have to open holes in them to launch fighters (which they will inevitably do because they are idiots). I would not put it past the Borg to fire into these holes and do pretty nasty damage to what are essentially civilian-spec ships.

The TF's two huge advantages, shield strength and FTL speed, are things that they seem to like to piss away because they are idiots.

When talking about the Trade Federation Battleships, I will usually look up whatever info that I do not remember in the ICS books (mainly TPM and AOTC because they give stats).

Just thought of this. How effective would it be to use the giant tractor beams at the front of the TF Battleships to lock on to a Borg ship to keep it in the most deadly firing arc? Use the Borg tactic against them.

Assuming their tractors beams have capability to lock onto something dwarfing their own ship, and enough power to overcome the Borg cube's engine power and shields.

Well the flip side to dwarfing their ship is that the cube's so large that it can't possibly stay away from the battleship's guns.

You obviously don't understand the principle of relative motion. When you anchor yourself onto a much larger object than yourself, the only thing you need to worry about is your own inertia.
