Negativity

Post by Cornelius »

How does one deal with overwhelming feelings of negativity ALL the time? I really do not know what is wrong. It is extremely hard to think of anything positive Even the good makes one feel bad.

For example, one got accpeted into PTK today, yet one could not dispense with the horrific feeling of only being able to go down in level.

That is why one came up with the idea of a contingency plan. If one's GPA reaches below the socially acceptable level of a B, one must kill oneself to make room for the smarter people. "This does not admit that one cannot do work and be fine, but it does admit to a fail-safe should something go wrong."

What do you think about this one

Sounds like typical depression (as I am sure you are well aware). If you are seriously considering suicide, then you may need help. If you cannot resist thoughts of suicide, talk to someone, friends or family, maybe look into seeing a doctor of some sort if you have the money, though be advised that the medication for depression can cost many hundreds of dollars a month. If you're just down in the dumps, then deal with it. Maybe you need to spend more time relaxing or doing fun things or spending time with friends.

Definately depression. Happened to me once. Good thing I'm too lazy to even consider suicide. Best thing to do is to see a doctor. I got put on some meds and I could actually feel my brain start to speed up. Had some very vivid dreams and creativity increased.

The boost from the meds enabled me to start exercising more and eating better which in turn enabled me to get off the meds pretty quick. Since then I've been feeling great!!!

I laugh at those less fortunate than me. It makes me feel better. :P

Seriously, try and think of how things will work out. Heaven knows I've been depressed in the past and right now, this fucking genetics exam is doing my head in and I want to go home this weekend and see my puppy and kitty, uh, and family.

i've been through depression before myself, and the only way i found out how to deal with it was by simply accepting things as they are, don't worry about what's going to happen and just focus on what's happening right now.

not saying you shouldn't use common sense, or encouraging any foolish actions, just saying that you should only really focus on the here and now while keeping future problems in the back of your mind. no real easy way to explain how i got over mine unfortunately, but that's the best i can think of how to word it. . . .

It is illogical, but even though I do not believe in any higher power, I am afraid of anything postive. I feel bad doing things well because there are so many people that cannot.

Ever get the feeling that you can only go downward in achievement when you do stuff well?

quite a bit. however i prefer to think of myself as preparing for the worst, in that situation. i realize that it could go downhill at any moment, and prepare in case it should. one really good aid in depression is throwing a fit and smashing things. make sure you don't smash anything valuable when doing so however, but it really will perk your mood up.

Depression sucks, but i generally find it's nothing that turning a bunch of CG sprites into a bunch of CG gibs wont change. Failing that i watch a funny movie (most probably Super Troopers). Failing that, just come here and vent a load of crap. I've never had a problem that spending some time here didn't take my mind off of.
