Or to be a telemarketers. -growls-PackMule wrote:I feel for you mate. I'm looking for a job myself, had an interview today.
Seems like there are no good jobs about where I am, or atleast none that seem appealling. I look in the paper and online and stuff and it seems like all the jobs are either for stripping or office-gofer-$9/hour-bitch ...
Of course not! That would take a letter or a phone call! YOU are supposed to put YOUR life on hold while waiting for THEM to make a call they aren't going to make. No looking for other jobs, you need to maintain your availability! You just have to sit around with your thumb up your ass wondering when the magic "not hired" cutoff point has been reached.PackMule wrote:I would have thought it polite to at least send a letter saying thank you for applying but we dont think you are suitable for the job blah blah blah.

Exactly. And then half of those are the ones that don't send anything out to let you know you're not hired. -coughDenny'scough-Dahak wrote:"Don't call us. We call you!"verilon wrote:Unfortunately, LR, some places look at your following up as a reason not to hire you..
Oh, indeed. And yet dear old Dad can't seem to grasp this concept. His head is stuck in the 1960s where whether you were hired or not was based on the firmness of your handshake.verilon wrote:Unfortunately, LR, some places look at your following up as a reason not to hire you..
Some people who've had the same job or just a job for too long lose touch with the current economic climate.Lazy Raptor wrote:Oh, indeed. And yet dear old Dad can't seem to grasp this concept.
