But now, since the FCC is threatening to come down hard on you, you yank him and your spokespeople moan and bitch about how vulgar Howard Stern is and how he doesn't conform to your new-found high standards of decency.

You can't really blame Clear Channel for bending over. Lobbying would probably not get results in time to stop any violations found by the FCC. And how do you know they aren't arguing with the FCC right now?
