Stargate SG-1 is Evil (aka SG-1 = Crack)
So I've managed to avoid watching SG-1 for almost 6 years. I usually avoid series based on movies because they always suck. I dodge it, weave around it, and basically stick my head in the sand whenever SG-1 came up.
Finally, some friends of mine are in the process of buying all the DVDs, and they tell me that I should at least give the show a chance. So I take Seasons 1,2 home with me and watch them.
Now, I am hopelessly addicted. Let this be a lesson, don't be afraid to give anything a chance. Of course, now I that I've finished season 2, I'm like a crack addict looking for his next fix. I'll be getting season 3 in about a week, but I can't wait that long. My hands shake as I type this because I'm going through withdrawal.
If the rest of the series is even better than seasons 1,2, then I am truly screwed.

Yes, I think season 4 was probably the high point. Not that there has been a particularly low point.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.
From seasons 2 onwards they just keep getting better.
Of the completed seasons, I think season 6 would be the lowest point for the show so far. But even season 6 of SG-1 is a lot better than the best of Enterprise

I'd say season 6 was the second best season in SG1 after season 4 personaly. Jonas rocked, Daneil had a few episodes but they were GREAT episodes, Jonas turned Teal'c from someone who occasionly raises an eyebrow and says 'indeed' to a major character again, we got to see the X303 and X-302...ggs wrote:From seasons 2 onwards they just keep getting better.

Season 7 has been better then I thought it would be...but season 8 worries me to HELL given what we have heard confirmed about it.

God I think there were something like 200 Cameos in that episode from SG1 people, MGM people. Preaty much all the writers and directors were on it at some point, they poked fun at past SG1 episodes and decisions on the show....frigen amazing episode.kojikun wrote:Any half-serious half-comedic self poking episode (like Wormhole Xtreme!) is good. All of those episodes like that.

They feel sorry for the actors and want to give them parts on a real T.V. show?Keevan_Colton wrote:They seem to be rounding up surplus ST doctors....wonder why
I think alot of the shows producers are Sci-fi fans. There have been alot of references to other Sci-Fi franchises throughout the series (The attack on Anubis' supership in the second ep. of season 7 comes to mind.)
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
He wanted to name the X-303 "Enterprise". He also handels the technobabble quite amusingly.kojikun wrote:Jack is always referencing phasers, etc when talking about the fighter plane, too. I think they're all big scifi geeks. They've got to be.
Carter: *talking about technical details about making the ashrac visible by using the naquitah generator with Malik*
O'Neil: "Are you saying you can make the invisible guy visible?"
Carter: "Yes"
O'Neil: "That's all I need."
I think the SG-1 writers know people hate technobabble, so Jack's purpose is to basicly tell the audience "Yeah we hate it too, but here is the plot device it's creating"
Yeah I think all the SG-1 members are big sci-fi junkies, especially Teal'c.

It's because they're character actors, so they do a lot of parts for different shows/films.Darksider wrote:They feel sorry for the actors and want to give them parts on a real T.V. show?Keevan_Colton wrote:They seem to be rounding up surplus ST doctors....wonder why
