Your personal illness/disorder/...?

Post by Dahak »

As I just read the thread about ADHD in SLAM, I wondered how many people around here do have some sort of chronic illness or disorder.

I am victim of an obscure neurologic movement disorder, called Essential Tremor (ET). Meaning that my hands tremble whenever I use them (unlike Parkinson). It's called "essential" because up to this date, it has no known cause. The possible medication, which influence the trembling positively include such wonderful things as beta-blocker, barbiturates, and some anti-depressiva. As my tremor is not terribly strong, I gladly pass those medicine :D

What else is out here? :)

Overweight. Freaky-big hands. Low-level psychological problems (i.e. I'm a nutter) that run through the family but that I know about and can cure without a shrink.

Never been to a psych-whatever, so haven't been diagnosed there. I'm sure if they wanted to, though, they could pin something on me.

As to the rest, outside of routine physicals, never had to go to the doc much. So, basically, I'm left with my eyes. They suck. 20/400 in one, 20/500 in the other (IIRC) uncorrected kind of suck. Luckily, thus far, I'm 20/20 correctable.

never seen a shrink either (i don't trust them), though i wouldn't be surprised if they could label me with something. although like rogueice my eyesight is pretty shitty. 60/40 vision, iirc. although it's been awhile since i've had an eye exam as well.

That vision number is impossible, since the first number is always 20. *Smack* :P My vision's about 20/210 or so. Yeah, I'm legally blind. Don't tell the BMV.

I think then that becomes 20/60 in one, and 20/40 in the other.

Other than a slight anger managment problem, I'm not aware of any illnesses or problems that I have, although people are probably going to find something sooner or later that will get me put on some medications.

Oh yeah i'm fuecked up in so many ways.

I suffer from depression, i have a stigma(sp) in my right eye meaning i'll never ever get rid of glasses, in school i was kicled in the balls so hard and often i now can't father children. My ears where pinned back, badly, making them look like vulcan ears, i'm 2 stone or so over weight and i hate myself.

Other than all that i'm actually ok.

The only thing wrong with me is that I stutter.

It probably explains why I don't post more often.
