Heh, to be honest, I thought she looked a little younger in those ads...

Random fact: the guy in those Verison ads (Brian Baker) is married to Terry Farrell.

I hate those fucking Bod ads, too, because the only fucking place I see them are at the cinema...

it's much more tolerable seeing them in the cinema. then you only have to put up with them once during the movie, as opposed to twenty times in an hour. :x

It's the exact opposite for me. I'd rather see them on TV, as I don't go to the cinema to see television advertisements, especially those two.

Ah, the unfortunate reality of American television. Funded 100% by oversealous, greedy corporate entities doing everything in their power to hook the gullible and easily seduced for products they neither want nor need.

I'd like to say I knew your pain, but not even Sky One and its copycat style of American channels can compare to what I have seen of US stations. This is what makes the BBC worth the cash to those naysayers.

I hadn't even realized they showed TV commercials at the theater until I went to go see Return of the King again. The worst I saw was that commercial for Trump's reality show: twice, no less.

Fucking sadists. :finger:

Commercials at theatures are the fucking worst, I pay my fucking ticket so I can sit back, be dazzled by what's coming next summer and watch a movie, not put up with the same shit ads I see on TV.

As soon as I saw the new "Lovin' it" McDonalds commercials, I complained to my wife about their level of suckage. They should relieve the advertizers who came up with that, IMO. I used to like the little jingles they had:

"Big-Mac, Filet-o-Fish, Quarter-Pounder, French-Fries ... Icy-Coke, Thick-Shakes, Sundies, and Apple-Pies!"

Ah, heck ... most of y'all probably don't remember that one...

"Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet'

I don't think McD's is aiming at the Black consumer so much as at the white suburban teenage wannabe who thinks rap is so 'real'.

It's a marketing change in that before, a lot of the ads were really aimed at children. Think about it, how many times have you seen Mom & Dad reluctantly dragged into McD's by their rugrats who watch way too much TV?

I've had McD's perhaps 3-5 times in the last decade and it was awful, even by the standards of fast food, every time. The only time I go to McD's is if I'm with a group that I can't talk out of it.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

"Pawtucket Patriot Beer: If you buy it, hot women will have sex in your backyard."

Why can't we have ads like that?

That's a good point. Adults have always hated McDonald's at worst, or tolerated its food quality at best. No adult actually raves about how he likes McDonald's food (OK, I actually knew one in university, but she was nuts).

McDonald's success, at least during the last 20 years, has been in marketing themselves to children with Ronald McDonald, the Hamburglar, the big purple guy, and other assorted cartoony characters. Not to mention the Happy Meal.

Their attempt to appeal to "hip" teens is utterly insane. It will never be "hip" to go to McDonald's.

Well, their McMuffins definitely appeal to me in the morning before work. The burgers are awful though. Give me Carls Jr. or In 'N Out (possibly unknown to those of you outside of California).

There's a lot of teens that seem to disagree with this in my city, of course, these guys also wear tracksuit bottoms and hoodies and smoke all day near a children's park area instead of going to school or getting a job.

Hey, maybe they're getting experience for their future career.

Back when I went to church, I recall one of my pastor's telling about how they used to do the "Catholic test": You took a girl out to McDonald's on Friday. If she ordered the fish sandwich, she was "one of them". :P

Yeah, but McDonald's can't even make sure their "vegetarian" stuff doesn't touch and contain meat, I don't see the fish being much better. :D

I've had their "fish." It's not fish.

Bah, stupidest commercial is that deodorant commercial with the misquito and the worms that made a heart. Bleh.

I hate those Quiznos ads more than anything. The word "Quiznos" used to make me think "subs." Now, it makes me think "horrible screaming rat-demons."

Yes, but now when you think of horrible screaming rat-demons it makes you think of Quiznos. Mission accomplished.

Up here in Canada, we don't have the horrible screaming rat-demons. We have just one horrible screaming rat-demon, and that's Don Cherry (yes, he does the Quiznos ads up here).

As an aside, we used to often get fish from Burger King on Fridays during Lent to take advantage of the fact that they were on sale. :)

What? Has Games Workshop bought the Quiznos corporation and picked a Skaven as its spokesperson?
