Where exactly do you floor it? The "road" runs near the front of the house, whose front points out in the direction of the crashed pod. It's sides are to the lake and the treeline. The back is to the opposite side of the lake, and the forest extends outward; so the treeline snuggles the side and the back, while the front has a dirt road and a partial opening.

There is enough space on the side that faces the lake to hide the jeep, unless you were thinking of dumping it into the water.

Alex has made it to the door of the house quite easily, and has opened it. He is standing in the doorway.

Jax is in the jeep and is about to decide where to dump it.

Edward is atop his solitary vigil with a trained eye looking down the road.

Edward and Alex both hear the approaching motors of vehicles, and they estimate two or three. No idea yet as to how many or what type of vehicles.

(OCC: Sorry about the days I've been absent. I've had to deal with passport organisation, and I've discovered that my country's Post Office is the tool of the Devil. Things have just been crazy the last couple of days

You ditch the car and sprint back to the house - just in time, as the noise of the incoming forces has grown cosiderably. Looking through a window you see 3 jeeps come roaring down the dirt road, each looks to have about 4 troopers in them.

Well, don't they look confident and disciplined. Let's see what I can do about that.

He smirks and begins to concentrate, attempting to fill their minds with terror and despair.

*Alex uses Empathy(Fear) on the soldiers.*

Frank puts on the jumpsuit with haste, and after getting it on, straightens it up and then looks back at his captors.

"Mostly delivering diplomatic pouches, checking on relations, the usual diplomatic stuff. Anything else, which there isn't, I couldn't tell you. May I go now?"

* Jax's autopistol lets off only one round, and it does nothing to the Jeep.

* Edward's ACR however hits and the driver goes splat. The jeep doesn't go careening off to it's destruction, it comes to a halt. The other two jeeps come to a halt as well and the troops inside empty.

* Alex's actions cause the three troopers in the first jeep to run for their lives in terror.

The troops break in two groups, one that fires at the window where Edward is and the door where Jax and Alex are, from cover, and the other group who disappears out of your field of view.

"Well, we did find you in the same room as these two." said Sybeline. "You were unconscious, along with this one here-" she points to the younger one. "-While this one was dead when we arrived." she points to the older one.

Negative. You're still swimming back to them.

As for the troops, the ones who are at the jeeps fire their ACRs at the house as covering fire for the flanking soldiers. Jax and Alex are shooting from the doorway; do you seek cover?

(I was waiting for JN, but what the hell..)

Alex has just the smallest of moments to mentally pat himself on the back for his handiwork, when the soldiers begin to return fire. Alex dives for cover.

As the reports of the ACRs fill the air, he thinks about the other group of soldiers, who are presumably attempting to take them from behind. He calls out to Jax, shouting over the noise.

"You and the guy up top hold these guys off! I'll try to cover the back of the house."

He gets down as low as he can, and begins to move.

(Just asking, but just what did I roll to make three guys just run away?!)
