Man dressed as the devil disrupts ‘Passion’ movie

Moviegoers at Stadium 16 Theater in Evansville attending a showing of “Passion of the Christ” got more than they bargained for Saturday night.

They were greeted in the lobby of the theater by a man wearing a ‘red devil’ costume. Tyler Wendell, a 19 year old freshman at the University of Southern Indiana, caused quite a ruckus with his get-up. The audience, many who were part of church groups, was visibly upset by the antics of Wendell.

”I always like to push the limits,” Wendell said. Many were upset that Wendell chose to wear a devil costume to a religious movie. Many patrons jeered Wendell as he stood in line for concessions.

Once inside the movie, Christians began pelting Wendell with Gummy Bears, Ju-Ju Bees, and popcorn. Management got involved after a 75-year-old woman, Hazel Meyer, poured a 64-ounce Coca-Cola on Wendell

The Passion of the Christ was such a moving, thought-provoking film. When is the novelization coming out? And will there be a sequel? The Second Coming of the Christ: This Time Even More Passionate. The plot: Jesus tries to return to earthm but is ambushed by Satan and is tortured in hell for the rest of the movie. Even more floggings, blood and violence. I'd buy the novelization for that, too.

Now, moving on to gay midget porn, aka The Lord of the Rings.

Well, other than wearing the costume, he wasn't really doing anything. He certainly didn't deserve being harassed in the theatre.

Now if he was actually harassing the other patrons, then it'd be different.

I would add the caveat "as long as violence isn't involved." Seeing as all he got was a drink dumped over his head and a whole bunch of candy thrown at him, like I said, not so much sympathy for somebody who went out of his way to attract hostile attention.

Right, because trying to get an education and just be a good student is analogous to going to a Jesus flick wearing a devil costume, with the express intent of riling people up and causing a disruption. That false analogy is beneath contempt, mmkay?

BTW, if I were God, I think I'd have better things to do than smite some pissant mortal wearing a devil costume. Like have a threesome with Angelina Jolie and Liv Tyler. "But I don't like women!" "You do now, baby!"

There's a difference between throwing a drink on somebody who's just being a disruptive ass (which he said he was going to the movie to do) and throwing a drink on somebody who has an electrical device centimeters from his head.

With movie tickets as expensive as they are, if you're not there to enjoy the movie, why in the hell did you spend the eight bucks to buy the tickets in the first place? Plus more for the concessions, all for the dubious pleasure of ruining somebody else's evening (probably multiple somebody elses' evenings). Jeez.

Oh puh-lease. Nobody is going to be electrocuted by having a drink dumped on them while talking on the cell-phone. And those things are even designed to be used in rain.
