Birthdays on the 29th of February

Post by Ma Deuce »

Imagine if you would, that you were born on the 29th of February of a leap year (or better yet, if you were actually born on that date), what date would you prefer to celebrate your birthday on during "non-leap" years: February 28 or March 1?

I know of one friend who has such, and thus he decides to celebrate on March 1st.

I would most likely do the same since at least it's after the appropriate date.

March first. It's the same day of the year as Feb 29. I attended a birthday party last weekend, but it was on the 28th, not the 29th. Close call there for the birthday boy.

How is it a paradox?

Traditionally, February 29th birthdays are celebrated on March 1st. It falls the same number of days into the year is the given reason, I think.

If you were born ~21 years ago on the 29th of February you can't buy beer on the 28th. For real.
Don't hate; appreciate!

I'd choose 1st March. Mainly because in Romania 1st and 8th of March aredays dedicated to women. This way I'll have my share of attention.
