Gene -

Please tell me the Billboard press release is not true. You can't seriously be thinking of naming your solo record "Asshole". That is way over the top even for you, the P.T Barnum of the 21st Century. Maybe you are just trying to create a pre-release buzz, and will change it at the last minute ... I sincerely hope so. Your album, and you, won't be taken seriously with that title, which means little or no airplay. You will no doubt lose the respect of many of your long-standing fans, people who you profess to care about a great deal, who, to just give one example, now have children and will not look forward to explaining the title to them. Given your demonstrated level of intelligence, to resort to such a demeaning, offensive title which you must know will alienate a lot of folks(fans or not) and create controversy makes no sense at all. Unless, of course, you really are just all about the Benjamins, and the bit about caring so much for the fans is just that - a bit.

As one of many lifetime fans who are probably writing to you with similar sentiments, I ask you to please reconsider.

I love the way that ass-clown says that it's "demeaning" for Gene Simmons to use the word "asshole" for his album name. Demeaning to who? Assholes?

Unless the picture of the Goatse guy is on the cover, I don't see what's so offensive about having an album called "Asshole". It's not that bad a word.
