I don't know, that's what they call it, though.Dalton wrote:...Hall of Justice? Who's the judge, Superman?

Well, yeah. Wonder Woman stands in as a bailif. Flash is the stenographer. Batman is up for the prosecution. And the Green Lantern is up for the defense. Batman's pretty sharp with a lot of keen and cutting arguments and questions. BUt GL keeps manufacturing new evidence.Dalton wrote:...Hall of Justice? Who's the judge, Superman?

I liked jury duty when I did it last year.

The one problem is that trials are frequently in recess whenever another attack is launched by THE LEGION OF DOOM!Oddysseus wrote:Well, yeah. Wonder Woman stands in as a bailif. Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

Seriously, I've done criminal and civil jury duty and never found it to be that bad an ordeal. I often brought a book to read while waiting in the pool and was lucky enough that in the civil pool I wound up with one of my teachers from Delgado and one of the sportswriters from the local paper.
I sat on an assault-3 case that really shouldn't have gotten as far as trial for the paucity of evidence presented by the prosecution, and we acquitted in a half hour. The civil trial was for an insurance fraud case and we had a nice judge who did everything he could to engage us in the proceedings.
The one real ordeal I was put through was for voir dere examination for a first time drug case the state was looking to convict for a twenty year sentence. The accused was a first-time offender and didn't quite have sale-weight cocaine on him. I stated my political beliefs in regards to the drug war and wound up having to debate the judge and the ADA for five full minutes before they excused me.
In every other case, they either wound up with a full jury before they got to me or I was dismissed on preemptory challenge. So it wasn't bad for me.

Yeah, but do you think they'll try to do anything to me for not showing up at the Hall of Justice when they told me to because they didn't give me enough warning?
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Man, I would've loved to see that.
