Hello, everyone!

It's been a long while since the last time I was here, and it's good to be back. The reason I took a break from SDnet and other places as well was that things in my personal life were going downhill and I was using this place as a sort of escape from that, and needed to get things back in order.

Happily, my situation is much better now. I landed a short term job which offers rather good prospects of more work in the future and things in general are going better than they were for the past year. Hopefully that trend will continue.

That should satisfy the idle curiosity of the crowd. Now, will some kind soul give me a rough update of the major events here since Christmas, assuming anything especially major has happened?

Special thanks to Rob Wilson, Zaia, Colonel Olrik, Red Imperator, Innerbrat, Mike and the members of the Mess for the support they gave me back in December and since.

Hey you're back!

Okay...let's see if my old geezer brain can remember.

Well...the RoTK bit turned out well...there are pics around here(and no melon comments)

Afterwards, we basically had some problems with RDJ going apeshit...and thusly banned.

A new guy came aboard...was banned, if you want more reference look up the name revprez for about 1000+ posts of literal yabbering in the extreme.

Shep took a minor hiatus. Reasons behind are sketchy...better to handle in PMs.

And now we're here with two new SM...namely me and Durandal.

And oh yeah Olrik(see I can get the name right...don't ask) had some odd connection bit, but has come lovingly back to the One Rin...the board.

Thanks for the sentiments, I appreciate them.

I didn't tell all that many people back in December, just the ones I feel closest to here, and while you're a great guy, we haven't exactly gotten all that well acquainted in the past.

Good to hear that your life is looking up again. You missed out on a flurry of gay marriage-related activity and the perpetual Iraq-related political wrangling in N&P, but don't worry; both subjects will probably continue

Also, in SW v ST, we had a few idiots to laugh at, most notably a guy calling himself "Stewart from SDI". He was priceless.

I actually nowadays have an apartment in Kallio, though I occasionally come back to my hometown (where I'm now), because I don't have an internet access at my place yet. Anyway, nice to have you here!

It's been far too long, and I intend to fully enjoy myself. The end of September was an eternity ago (must have falsely remembered December as being the cutoff point because of the Merry Christmas thread I dropped by to post then).

Thanks! And you happen to be wrong. As I recall, we actually have agreed on a number of issues unrelated to politics, and even agreed to an extent on some contentious issues, though those latter ones have been quite few and far between. I've also enjoyed your contributions, you often tend to have very good insight into things. We might draw somewhat different conclusions from the same set of data, but our differences are more philosophical than practical.
