Was that the movie where some military guys go to a colony and have to fight all of these crazy robots disgused as colonists(mostly little girls) and the military commander puts the chick in the escape rocket at the end?

Dragonheart.
Tha bad guy looses there. And Draco still meets his objective by redeeming himself.

I know, I was just telling IB what the name of the movie was, as she couldn't remember.

They were little boys i think, and the chick was a robot too, only the commander escapes with the teddy bear.

and the movie was filmed in Quebec province, with the undergroud base scenes filmed in the upper levels of the Montreal`s Olympic stadium.

Thank you, kind sir! I saw that movie but never learned the title, it's been bothering me for years.

I can't believe we got this far without mentioning Enemey at the Gates

Granted, I label both sides as "The bad guys", it's just that, in my humble half-Jewish opinion, the Russians were only slightly better. You know, in that they didn't target specific ethnic groups, they killed everyong.

Enemy at the Gates can't count- the Russians are the good guys because they're part of the Allies. Besides, it's more a focus on Vasiliy Zaistev than the Motherland; and you can't refer to Jude Law as a bad guy unless he looks like that psycho he played in Road to Perdition.

That's right, Jude Law plays a nice, friendly sniper in "Enemy at the Gates." :D Also, Rachel Weiz - she's not one of the bad guys. :P

Note: I didn't like what the Russians did either but by the film they're the "good" guys. Ok, at least Jude Law and Rachel Weiz are. All the other characters either die or... uh, die. I think someone may have been shipped to Siberia, but I can't recall. :?

Yeah, they sure seemed like good guys, what with the NKVD holding guns and shooting at people who let the self-preservation mechanism kick in. :)

Vasiliy Zaistev is the protagonist. He lived and killed the bad guys. Ergo, the bad guy didn't win. In the narrative structure that the film set up.

He was a Badguy, all the Russians were badguys. Besides, they weren't so much "Allies" as "co-belligerants".

Two words. Narrative structure. Hell, the German sniper had that kid killed. That already marks him as the bad guy.

I still say that both sides were "bad", Narrative Structureing be damned.

What's this "both" sides bullshit? Vasiliy is the protagonist, and he's a nice guy - he might be a fucking Russian but so what? He's not Stalin, he didn't go around shooting peasants. He's the hero of the story. Jesus fuck - my ancestry is Hungarian, does that make me evil because of Vlad the Impaler? Fuck no. Is Vasiliy evil because I hate the Russians for invading Hungary? Fuck no. Get a grip - not every Russian was like Stalin.

Dude, that'd mean the end of Das Boot was a happy ending, and given that was the best damn WWII film ever made, that's wrong, very wrong.
