My review of Lost in Translation

Beautiful work. Definitely a head film meant to make you think. It captures the feeling of being in a place you don't want to be in; and by place i don't mean Japan, but rather social situations and relationships that jibe.

In a word: AWESOME.

I agree, Bill Murray was funny and both he and Scarlet Johansen played the parts superbly. Despite her wooden appearence on the oscars, Coppala has made a great debut. I doubt we'll have long to wait until more of her movies get oscars and she gets a best director.

Technically it's not her debut. She directed Virgin Suicides before this, along with the short Lick the Star.
