for now, Tormantineth is only half-listening, focusing more on the unfortunate bound lady.

[OOC] Tycho, since you can't make up your mind, I'm going to do this meeting if you won't post on it. If you want to use it for plot exposition or something you have one post before I start autoing the abbot's responses, but me being gone this long is killing realism. Given the various clues I think I know what you're doing, but I won't give it away. But if you're going to DM for a group this large and eager to play then you need to actually show up and do it. And guys, when did my griffon, and anyone else for that matter, leave the courtyard? [/OOC]

Gaheris walked into the abbey proper, leaving the others in the courtyard. He showed his holy symbol and submitted to divinations upon his intentions and loyalties before being admitted.

The abbot stacked several sheets of parchment aside as he entered the spartan office. Gaheris made a half bow to his superior. "High Lord Abbot, I have come to report." The abbot nodded his head, indicating that he should continue. "Much has happened. My companions made the rash action of raiding the slave gladiator tournament, just as I thought they would. It was a rash action, but a noble one. I participated in the operation, and the slaves were freed, but we were forced to flee before getting them out of the city. They lost themselves in the streets.

"We have taken a prisoner, a mercenary wizardess who I captured at the arena. She is being questioned and searched now. I am sorry to be so brief, but I must get back. Some of my companions can be... overzealous at times. Do you have questions or instructions for me?"

You see about 50 of your followers arrive, and one steps up to you with a sad look on his face. "We lost 20 of our fellows in the battle, and the other 30 we cannot find. They have either been captured as they were fleeing or are still trying to make their way here."

The man shakes his head. "Wizards in in crowd, disguised as commoners, at least I think so. We were chased down by a group of wizards as we fled, but we outran them, but I can't say the same about the rest of us."

You see vague shapes lying on the ground, unmoving, while shadowy images move about them, poking and prodding.

Duncan had to hide a smile as Astinius looked at him and Tash, obivously with a bit of disgust. He seems to have some serious issues...

You can just begin to see the details of their surroundings, but suddenly it's as if a haze envelops them and everything turns white. You can't detect anything now.

There were two kinds; kindly doddering old men who fumbled with children's toys and simple magicks all day, and scheming young bastards whose general appreciation of True Spellfire was under a magnifying spell and under glass. I myself will make sure you pathetic lycanthropes are treated especially well.."She grins wickedly, and lays her head back.

By using scrolls and spellbooks, I cast DETECT MAGIC in conjunction with PEREMENCE.

++I chatted with our DM, and he said that in order that my charachter can get back in the game. *waves hand* My charachter has rested enough that he can re-memorize his spells++

"Get them ready for action, I know this must be bad for morale, so try and be inspiring. I'm going to go.........make our presense known."

I go and find a public place, i'm wearing a robe that covers my head. (remember that i have a no-scry spell in place).

After a few hours of conversing with town's folk, you can tell that most people are displeased at having their entertainment taken away from them, and they tell you that whoever did this will be in trouble with the underworld. However, some people were glad that the slaves were released, but they talk in hushed tones, and skitter away within a minute or so.

With the gag back in place, Caoimhin skips over the figure of the female mage. "I wouldn't think she," he nods behind him, "Will really be having much use for a blank book...particularly not so long as she's bent on unpleasantness. Would it be suitable for scribing spells in do you think? I'm interested in learning what I may."
