Right now on television there is a song on, it's a live concert I believe and there's a few thousand people there. Guess what the song is? It's the tetris theme.... Who the fuck would go to a concert to listen to the tetris music? Oh yeah and theres some mong yelling TETRIS! into a mic every so often. Where do they get these people from?

It depends on what kind of music it was. If it was some kind of cheap, pansy version (which i think it is. I'm picturing the kind of crazy thing that they did to the Flintstone's theme when the horrid live action film came out).

On the other hand, if it was something comparable to an Over Clocked remix, then there's a good chance it rocked. Steve Pordon's OC Remix of "Wily's Mosh Pit" from Mega Man II totally kicks ass, I must admit.

No they sure as hell didn't do that.

I try to maintain some faith even if it is difficult at times.

Was moon patrol the side scrolling game where you had to get this buggy thing somewhere on an alien planet of some type? I was only little when I played it so I don't remember it too well but I do remember it took quite a while to load on my C64 (900 seconds or thereabouts IIRC)

Faith in humanity... its overrated. :?

But a new release of tetris... its just icing on the cynics cake.

I showed my age again, didn't I? Yes, Moon Patrol was that side scolling game. Yes, simple graphics, cool music, great little game. I used to play it in my Intro to Computers class in high school. THere were four of us who already had taken computer classes outside of school and took the class for an easy A. We'd finish our programs in five minutes and spend the last 40 playing Moon Patrol or any of another dozen games. Our teacher hated us so much that if we so much as didn't capitalize our name or write the date down wrong, he'd mark it off. That just made us play even more. *coughassholecough*

I have Moon Patrol for my GBA. I love it. :)

I miss my old C64. Nothing like going to a market and buying a ton of games for 50 pence each (real games as well not copied!). Mega Drive, SNES, NES pfft. The C64 was were it was at

I think I was about 7 when I got Moon Patrol but I doubt you're even close to the oldest person I've seen online. An eighty year old woman giving me advice on ISPs! Incredible, where I live just about no-one over 30 can use a PC.

I don't know, but if they played the original Russian lyrics with the music, I would have found it amusing! :D

Is it me or is that a recurring theme in Russian music?

Somewhere, there has to be a primitive online Java or Flash game of the following: Jumpman, Moon Patrol, Lunar Lander, Boulderdash, and The Castles of Dr. Creep (and if you can identify that last one, you are not only ancient, you are a true C64 person).

Does anybody remember Karateka or Mr. Robot? I think they were for the apple IIC. I had a ton of fun with those as a kid....

Seriously? A Dr. Creep rememberance?

Funky. I spent hours trying to finish some of those puzzles when I was in university. Wish I could find a copy of that again...Broderbund made it, but I doubt even they remember.
