What's the recipe for the last meal you cooked for yourself from scratch? Inquiring minds want to know!

Here's mine:

Pork Chops with Garlic Sauce:

1 5-oz. pork chop per guest
Vegetable oil
Seasonings to taste

Sauce:
1/4 stick butter (salted or unsalted)
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup water (optionally substitute with another half cup of wine if you desire a stronger-flavored sauce)
1 clove garlic
1 dash Chinese brown sauce (available in any reasonably-stocked supermarket)

Preparation:
Preheat oven to broil, open door to first position. Mix water and wine together.

Brush pork chops with vegetable oil and season. In a nonstick skillet over high heat, brown for 45 seconds per side. Broil 5 minutes per side, then rest for 5 minutes under aluminum foil.

While pork chops are broiling, deglaze browning skillet with water-wine mixture and melt the butter in the skillet. Crush 1 clove garlic into the skillet, add brown sauce and reduce. While the pork chops are resting, deglaze the pan they were broiling in with the sauce and simmer until pork chops are done resting. Serve to table with vegetable and baked potato.

Serves one guest per pork chop.

The Manual Chilli - ok, so I made that up, but it's so general a recipe in its measurements, that it's the best name for it.

450g/1lb of mince - brown
1 large onion + a couple of garlic cloves crushed + 2 chillis and seeds - brown/soften/generally fry up nicely
Small handful of chilli powder
Small handful of cumin - makes all the difference
Tin of kidney beans - liquid and all
Tin of plum tomatoes - liquid and all
Dash of tomato puree

Mix all together, and simmer for about 20mins or so. Feeds 4. Serve with garlic bread, potato wedges etc. Good solid recipe, staple of student cooking.

Along the general line of this thread....

1 Cup-A-Noodle

Somewhat less than 1 cup of hot water

Pour into Cup-a-Noodle cup; fold top back onto cup.

Let simmer for 3 minutes; take top off and apply fork and spoon (preferably disposable plastic) with vigor.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

It's a damn good job you said "for yourself" or I'd take all day to remember (Dorsk is a chef :D ).
Anyway, the last thing I made for me was chicken, mushroom and egg fried rice.

1/2xChicken breast
(depending on size)3-4xMushrooms
1xChicken egg
1xHandful of whole grain rice
1-2xServing spoons of Sesame seed oil
1xTeaspoon of olive oil
1xPinch of fresh ginger
1xTeaspoon of Dark soey sauce

First boil up your rice in a saucepan with the teaspoon of olive oil, when it's finish drain it and put it to one side.
Now take a wok and add the sesame seed oil. While the oil is heating up slice the chicken breast into whatever sized peice you desire, then add to the wok. When the chicken is cooking slice up the mushrooms and then add them, the chicken should be white all over when you add you mushrooms. If you like your mushrooms browned or crispy then leave them for a while, then add the rice and the egg, continualy stir the mixture of rice, egg, chicken and mushroom while adding a the ginger (pending on how hot you like your food add more or less) and then add the soy sauce. Continue to cook until the chicken it cooked through then serve.

Before that I made Mozzarella Chicken:

1XChicken breast
1xSlice of mozzarella
1xTeaspoon of Fresh ground pepper
1xSplash of olive oil

First, slice through your chicken breaat at an angle, but not all the way through, just enought so that it opens up like a book.
Now warm the oil in a pan, then put the chicken in, make sure it is opened, (this will cut cooking time in half!).
When it's very slightly browned place the chicken on a baking tray spread the pepper across the top then put the slice of mozarella on top of the peppered chicken.
Leave in a pre-heated oven of about 200oc for about 5 minutes and serve on a bed of mixed lettuce.

Since I am not a pregnant woman, I can eat as much soy protein as I can stand. (Hey, it's good to have vegetarian days to balance out the days where I eat a half-pound burrito stuffed with chicken marinated in habanero sauce.)

- One package Bear Creek soup mix. (Or similar dried soup mix. Minestrone or similar works nice.)

- Half pound of vegetarian ground beef or sausage.

- One can of corn (drained.)

Notes:

Prepare the meatless meat beforehand. Then prepare the entire package of soup, following the directions on the package. Add in the can of corn and the meatless soy product and mix well. Season with ground black pepper, and red chili pepper flakes available from the local supermarket. Makes a high-protein, low-fat, meat-free meal with some bite to it.

If you want something with real meat in it and are just as lazy as I am . . .

- A large can (or two) of Bush's baked beans, any flavor.

- A package of four sausages (bratwurst, or cajun-flavored sausages, something with a bit of heat to it.)

- One fresh onion, chopped.

First, chop and cook your sausages. While they are cooking, add the chopped onion and cook them both together. Make sure you cook your sausages thoroughly (I won't be held responsible for any food poisoning that results because you were impatient.) Add the can of Bush's baked beans. Mix it all together and simmer the beans (stir frequently, otherwise you'll bake the beans to the bottom of the pot.)

A bunch of potatoes, ~3 /pers
Onion ~1-2 /pers
Cream
Oven ~250C

More is better don’t bother if you don’t use atleast 400g potato so you get some layers 3-4 atleast.

Slice one layer of potato into a oven safe container.
Put some onion ontop of the potato.
Repeat until all the potato and onions is in the container.

Add 1-2dl cream

Add some salt and pepper.

Put some shredded cheese on top.

Cook until all the potato is soft ~20-30m depending on size.

Add whatever meat you fancy but personally I’ll cook a beef or something.

I have all my recepies in the head and have never bothered to measure stuff, just add a pinch of that and stuff.
