Toddler killed.
Story here.
Aside from the tragic death, and the natural outrage I have at the person responsible, I am also annoyed at the headline of the article. "Road Rage Kills Toddler". I hate it when the media legitimizes things like road rage. It wasn't the man who killed the toddler, it was road rage, is the message the media is sending. The person responsible is probably going to use that as a defence to get a lighter sentence. I wish the media would just report what happened. Sorry about that rant, but it is one of the things which really annoys me.

Fuck yeah, go Australia. The driver spent Friday night and most of yesterday under police guard in Royal Perth Hospital with a broken arm and bruises after being dragged from his car and attacked with a cricket bat and rake by members of the toddler's family.

Erm... What does this have to do with the rest of the article? The death came a day after a 29-year-old man was jailed for three years after viciously attacking a woman driver after a minor traffic accident.

Something occurs to me here, was the toddler not in a car seat? If the child was in the car seat and unable to let himself out it might have saved his life.
Im in no way blaming the parents, the road rage guy should have been beaten to death on the spot, but I do think a car seat could have help save that child.

Police said the toddler got out of the car when it stopped in the drive and had walked behind the vehicle when it was hit about 8.30pm on Friday.

After seeing a clip on the news about what happen,
The poor kid was sandwiched between the 2 cars when the asshole rammed the car, causing significant damage to the cars themselves.
Also there was the claim that the handbrake was used to prevent the family from pushing the car backwards.
I really hope this guy gets conficted of Murder.

That was my point. If the child had been buckled in a car seat, he would not have been able to get out on his own and walk between the cars. Or am I missing something. I thought of this cause I buckle up my neice everytime we go for a ride.

How do we know he got out on his own? He'd have to be moving pretty fast to get out on his own and walk around to the back of the car before his parents did. Maybe his parents unbuckled him.TrailerParkJawa wrote:That was my point. If the child had been buckled in a car seat, he would not have been able to get out on his own and walk between the cars. Without more detailed information, it's hard to construct a picture of exactly what happened.

Police allege that a 40-year-old man who drove into the boy apparently became enraged over a trivial traffic delay."
I would also point out that no child seat I've ever seen will keep the kid in if he wants out.
