This isn't over by a long shot. Besides the appeals, Alabama and Maryland both want a crack at these two, and maybe the Feds, too. They may have their choice of states in which they're executed (I can't see an Alabama jury witholding the death penalty for either).

Too bad they can't do the same to Malvo.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Oh, its not over but I don't see any end that will be favorable for Muhammad. Couldn't happen to a better fellow.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

They can't, but there are many more trials for him.

Of course, Muhammed's appeals are essentially doomed to end in a "guilty" verdict and a "death" sentence. Essentially his lawyers are stalling for time. Who the hell is paying them, anyway? Are they court-appointed?

Good, and best of all the area still has plenty of good stout trees and lengths of rope.

Good luck with that. Knowing this world we'll have some sick fuck pleading for this guy to have a proper appeal and everything. He may just get hanged/shot/fried/injected before his 80th if we're lucky.

If he's court-appointed, what do you expect him to do? He's a lawyer, not a judge or jury. He's got a job to do, and that job is defend his client. Tanking a case on purpose is something the Bar Association takes very seriously.

Too true, which is why I often wonder what people who represent some obvious scum are thinking about themselves. Must be quite the predicament.

Not really. If the scum is that obvious, he's guaranteed to lose the case no matter what. All he can do is try to minimize the sentence, which sure as shit wasn't going to happen here.

He gets drawn and quartered, and then all the parts get put to death. :)

They could inject him and have him hanged with a 20.000V electrical conductor in a gas chamber.
