Diablo 2, need help

So, I've just gotten back into D2, and I'm building a Spearazon, boing by the lovely name of Panthesilea.

I'm building the lightning strike branch for killing groups, and I'm going to use one of the 3 physical skills. Here's my question- should my primary physical skill be Fend or Jab? both have a lot of things going for them- I'm curious as to which one would work better.

Ok, I'm doing this from a purely theoretical point of view. Me and zons never got along and the only reason I ever got one past 40 is becuase someone gave me a free(and apparently legit) Skystrike and Buriza, and I had to see if it was really worth all the talk.

Jab
+ Less severe lock(like Zeal, I'm assuming)

- More expensive at higher levels
- Much less extra damage at higher levels
- Less bonus to attack rating
- Attacks decreases in damage after each hit

Fend
+ Constant 5 mana cost
+ MUCH more damage
+ Greater bonus to attack rating
+ Give a greater bonus to damage at 1 point than Jab does at 20

- Two prequisites that could go to synergies
- Can't move while attacking, Fend-lock(I assume)

I really don't see where the question is at.

Fend-lock IS the problem- I asked this same question over at D2.net and got a rousing chorus of "FEND SUXORS!" , on the ground that if tehre are more than 2-3 guys near you when you attack, you'll get hit and just sit there gyrating while the enemies rape you.

So Fend is the thing to use when playing alone and Jab for player killing...
