What do you do?

Post by Cornelius »

What do you do to remember everything you learn forever?

To me, I seem to lose sharpness on issues/topics learned after a while, and i begin to lose the ablity to accurately craft detailed responses to things. Names become fuzzy and all. I always try to review notes all the time, but I guess you cannot do that indefinitly. Is there some way? Something I am doing wrong?

I have had this problem a while now. I understand...remember...but then forget when no longer studying the class. It's sad.

You'll get worse at most things without constant practice- especially non-mechnical related things (academics, names, languages). I suppose key to remembering something is to use it often.

Just learn it thoroughly the first time around. It'll come back to you when you really need it.
Don't hate; appreciate!

Many centuries ago, Mankind in his infinite wisdom invented the printing press so that we wouldn't need to memorize everything.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

China stepped back from the brink of a virtual industrial revolution in the 1400's. Its emperors became more conservative and stoppped sending out the vast fleets of Chinese ships which were by then were known as far away as Africa and Arabia. Internal stabiliy become the order of the day and innovation was sacrified.

China's descent from the forefront of civilization can literally be blamed on a single man.

Either the Emperor or a eunuch, I'll wager.
