In short, a lifeform that can be shown has not, and/or could not have evolved naturally. Intelligent Designers have used the human eye (

) and various other animal organs. "Irreducably complex" is their buzzword. The gripe being that certain organs, if made "simpler" (posessing the characteristics of an evolutionary ancestor), would cease to function and be of no survival advantage. They like to use the bombadier beetle, saying that if it's hot fart machinery were any different, it would explode, catch fire and just generally kill itself. It's bullshit, but I'm no entymologist and I forget why. I don't care either, because Intelligent Design is not science. It's the intellectual equivalent of throwing your hands up in the air and going "I just don't KNOW, okay!?".

First, one would obviously have to define "intelligent design" as a theory which makes concrete predictions. Then, one would have to compare those predictions to observation. Right off that bat, we have a serious problem since "intelligent design" does not even PRETEND to be able to predict the motives or behaviour or capabilities of its mysterious Man Behind the Curtain. But in this case, the bullshitter in question CLAIMED that he DID have evidence. So obviously, he thought he would be able to satisfy the criteria, although as it turned out, getting this "evidence" out of him was like squeezing blood out of a stone.
