Ok... FYI... I will be making starship combat.. realistic, at least to the best of my ability.

That means that I will not be using in-game stats for weapons, or weapon ranges. I will be working on a very simple system that makes things a bit more true to SW...

Same basic maneuver rules apply... piloting checks and the whatonot. However, AC for ships is bullshit to a great extent.

You get your pilot skill modiefier as your "armor class" Any atack roll that is below that, has no chance at hiting you unless it is a flak burst/misile, which I will treat as grenade like weapons for that purpose.

If you have a chance at geting hit, you roll a piloting check, opposed to your opponents attack roll.

Also, the weapon facings and numbers listed in the books.. well we all know those are wrong...

and damage will be calculated differently as well...

Shields have a certain number of hitpoints. This is calculated for fighters by using the SBD rating of the ships shields. You all remember x wing... you could take a certain number of hits from fighter lasers before your shields went down..(number divided by 5 as i remember for lasers.. you could take maybe 2 proton torps, or 4 concusion misiles in an x wing) well that is how that works...

Capital ships... well none of you have to worry aboutthe capships... But they will be calculated based on a certain number of broadsides and their HP will be measured in a certain order of magnitude in tons/tnt.. kilotons gigatons etc... If you get ht by a turbolaser.. you are dead unless you make a reflex save dc 20 to eject...

FOr the purposes of killing capships, each of your lasers is 10 kilotons, each concusion missile is 80 megatons, and each torp is 250 megatons

Depends on your job I suppose. He commands a few stormies(they are generally lower level than pilots... shooting a gun takes a lot less skill than flying a TIE at high fractional c) so a personal assistant is not out of the question. However, It shouldnt be armed.

finished making the char more or less. think i'll go with a tech specialist. not quite sure about things like abilities and feats, but the basic scores are in place. character sheet linky

i also found a handy online dice roller in case anyone doesn't have dice available and needs it here. it's perfect for d20 based games.

Oh well, yet another con this weekend, don't know how the net access is going to be, so I won't be able to guarantee participation until monday. This goes for the FR game as well, so someone, please use me as cannon fodder if a fight materialises there.
