-Well, I've certainly got a very perverted mind from this site. Damn proud of it, too.
-I've become much more tolerant to most things.
-People who don't use common sense and religious freaks tick me off.
-I've matured a lot. It may not show on here, but IRL it does.

*It's taught me how to be even weirder on the band header than I had been before.

*It's helped me better identify and describe logical fallacies, making the job of pointing out idiots and explaining why they are one much easier.

*It's taught me the joy of using the term "Fucktard."

*And last but not least, it's retaught me just how weird and scary web forums can be. Not that it keeps me away.

It has taught me a little bit about everything, movies, books, guns, bands and nuclear reactors, it makes me look a lot smarter IRL when I can talk about super obscure stuff I learned here. I started reading HP Lovecraft because of this board. It keeps me informed about current events, why go to news site, when news site comes to you! About logic and debate techniques. Also it has made me way, way more perverted than I was before.

There was an actual SW vs ST debate out there

The nit and gritty of why creationism is downright stupid.

From the forums I learned:

The existance of Canada, as well as other countries outside the US

Multiple ways of saying 'what the fuck?'

Multpile ways to humorousily call people names and flame them in general

And that while I am a sick twisted pervert, I am definately not alone.

I have learned at least three letters in radio code.

I have become a bit more conservative and skeptical of communism and socialism, while remaining an avid socialist, though that may be Iain M Bank's influence.

I have learned better debating skills, though now that I'm taking a class in informal logic my skills are improving markedly because now I'm getting graded.

I have become a total otaku because of the lack of good scifi on american TV and being here I've gotten a good alternative to it and become hopelessly addicted.(I am now in withdrawl from not having been able to get my hands on the last 20 episodes of Gundam Seed because a friend hasn't been around today.)

I have become accustomed to entirely new levels of wrong than I ever before thought possible.

My thinking sociopolitically has been sharpened by my skeptic's training and I have begun to really understand the world.

Tolerance. I used to be a sworn enemy of homosexuals and atheists. But SD.net showed that they are people just like me. While I do not agree with them I no longer have a problem with homosexuals or atheists.

Debate better, that's for damn sure.

Although it would be a bit post hoc ergo propter hoc (learned some latin too!) to say that it made me happier, i have no doubt that it helped, i find i'm a lot easier to motivate now, and have a more positive outlook on life.

Mike's main site educated me to a considerable degree in terms of rational thinking, applying scientific methodologies and mindsets to more things, and in how stupid people can be. Since I joined the forum, I've learned a lot about different systems of morality, religion, and political thought. It's given me a much better understanding of several "fringe" movements within the population, and shown some of them to be imminently reasonable positions.
