Odd Sf/x in SW special edition

I just watched the SWANH spec ed and I noticed a couple scenes where the Sf/x seemed out of place.

1. In the detention center scene when chewie fires his rifle it sounds like a AT-ST from ROTJ.

2. When Luke and Leia are in the chasm and have to swing across she takes the gun and fires at the StormTroopers. When she fires the blaster sounds like a .44 magnum.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I just crazy?

Well, the blaster could have been a .44 firing blanks.

No. All E-11 models were based on British Sterling SMGs, thus the blanks were 9mm.

I noticed those things as well when I saw the Special Edition. I have no idea why George would allow such mistakes. Perhaps they put them in for a joke ? However I think those AT-ST sounding blasts during the detention cell shootout were supposed to be the sounds of the security blasters mounted in the walls.
