Free States Union Navies:
The Free States Union consists of the state navies of a cluster of regional Feifdoms. The Nova Moscow and Tangieran Star Republic navies are the most organized, with decent training and home-made vessels. The navies have little co-training, and as such are not yet capable of operating very effectively. Only a single squadron, hardly the equivalent a sub-manipule in the Commonwealth navy, has been trained in working together, this is the Combined Union Navy which includes vessels from Nova Moscow, Tangier, and the Baldwin Concordat.
The individual navies of Nova Moscow and the Tangeiran Star Republic can be counted on to put up at least a fight, and the Baldwin Condordat's fleet is somewhat effective, but they can not work effectively together and the other navies are very week, useful only for rear duty work and meat to be wasted on a modern battlefield.

Reviewing planetary defenses, I'm starting to get reviled. It's gotten way out of hand; entire armadas of multiple nations would splatter against some of them. At this point I am seriously considering limiting your planetary defenses to 20 stations equivalent to your heaviest ship in firepower/defensive power, as that's alot of power(Unless you're Beowulf, who has so many of the damn things..). I felt I should announce this and let people put forth arguments to justify.

From story purposes, Five Fangs is rather better defended than that (it used to be Hephaestus and it derives its current name from the 5 remaining and highly dangerous Grand Cannons). But aside from them, the fleet is supposed to do most of the defensive work.SirNitram wrote:Reviewing planetary defenses, I'm starting to get reviled. Planetary Defenses
I don't have a problem with the limitation. Currently, only my Indas system is more protected than that since it has 24 OWP (each more or less equivalent to a Dreadnought in terms of firepower). But it has 6 Orbital Fortresses (considerably more powerful than one of my dreadnoughts). I can trim the fat easily enough, lowering the number of OWP's to 14 so that all together with my Orbital Forts it will have 20 points of orbital defense. My defenses do get weakened as you move further down the line, and thus I think they are fair as they stand now. I am more than willing to make changes though. ^_^SirNitram wrote:Reviewing planetary defenses, I'm starting to get reviled. I think the best option is to write up a status quo ante peace treaty and e-mail it to the relevent parties for their approval. I'm in favor of ending this cheap, because the Entente's objectives of preserving the balance of power and asserting their strength have been achieved.Thirdfain wrote:If people would bother carrying through on their actions, this STGOD would be going a LOT faster.

Here's my suggestion for the terms:
PRC to pay for reconstruction of Desjardins and Jacob's Landing in full- this means a 100-150 quadrillion Commonwealth Sols (.6 Sols to the SKS crown).
Krytos Empire to pay for the the reconstruction of Coventry- 15-20 trillion Commonwealth Sols.
Ban on WMDs for the Cornerians.
Removal of Cornerian and Krytosian forces from the Commonwealth's ally, the Azegart Empire.

Um... Dude? I'm no longer in the STGOD... I gave my empire to Stormbringer when I knew I'd be spending 7 weeks incommunicado... I have no control over any currently in play faction.Thirdfain wrote:OK, I'm annoyed.
How the hell are we gonna resolve this war when Beowulf is off elsewhere, Stormbringer has flown the coop, and Darksider is no where to be found?

I'm not "nowhere to be found". I'm right here....
I'm on the defensive and waiting for the Entetnte fleet to make its move.
As for the peace treaty, you'll have to remove "Emperor" chalen first or make him back down. (Difficult to do. He can't just bend over for the people who killed his predecessor can he? Perhaps if you drop the extortion....I mean reparations.)

Would it speed things up if I just used my Mod powers and declared the PRC the greasy smear on the pavement it is destined to be from the massive forces arrayed against it?

Wait- you bombed half of a world into the stone age, and then invaded it. In all seriousness, if a peace was to be reached, reparations would be VERY reasonable. And for the Krytos, the reparations would be very limited- only the amount needed to rebuild a mere set of coastline cities. As for the peace treaty, you'll have to remove "Emperor" chalen first or make him back down. (Difficult to do. He can't just bend over for the people who killed his predecessor can he? Perhaps if you drop the extortion....I mean reparations.)
Frankly, I think that accepting a peace treaty at this point is the very best move possible for Emperor Chalen- he has an Entente fleet at his doorstep, soon to be assisted by the TSC.
As for the collapse of the PRC, I'd reather see it intact and have Stormbringer in the game than have it be a greasy smear and have him gone.

Hell, no! The Cornerians only attacked civilian targets until the end, and when they faced my fleet, they were soundly beaten (thanks to the assistance of the Entente.)Soon to be assisted? I thought your fleet was a shambles?
I'm at slightly less than my starting strength in terms of capital ships, and slightly over my starting strength in terms of escorts.
I've dispatched a dreadnought group to assist against the Krytos.

Either Darksider or Marcao (in that order of preference) can run the PRCs last stand. thoughts
I would be willing to play the PRC again, but will only do so if Darksider pops in and says he is unwilling or unable to do so in order to respect Stormbringer's wishes. I will also try and cook up a post for the Indashani and see if I can get the STGOD thread back in page 1.
Sorry about not being more active recently. I've had really sporadic access for the last two weeks, and in a reduced-motivation phase. I'll do stuff when I figure out something to do. Thirdfain, feel free to receive the stuff I sent you, including the spare rerouted to Coventry.

Thanks, Raxmei. This looks a little stale, tho- we need some kind of resolution for this war.
Basically, over Corneria, the PRC's 2cnd (a skeleton fleet to begin with, already whittled down by the Corsairs) and 7th fleets are locked in close-range combat with a vastly numerically superior Commonwealth force. Meanwhile, the 4th and 5th fleets (i think, I could have the Fleet numbers wrong), which lost almost half of their escorts in the battle over Ulrich, are at missle range of the Commonwealth fleet, and are currently under attack by the Corsair forces.
Corneria's planetary shields are down over the capital.
6 Commonwealth Heavy Cruisers have smashed the region with anti capship EMP missiles, and are now landing Marines on the Cornerian capital. Commonwealth Army transports will be dropping out of their waiting positions in hyperspace shortly.

I've kind of lost interest in this game (It looks like everyone else has too) So marco can have the PRC forces, and i'll sign whatever "status quo" treaty Thirdfain comes up with.
