52 degrees c, apparently, but the socket is 35.

Well you could always use a laptop mobo with a pentium m in your desktop with enough modding.

Oh man, that makes me think back to the days of the BP6 and dual cellies :D.

That would be so cool it would be beyond belief. Imagine 2x Dothan+ Pentium M's with 64-bit extentions (it's coming I hear) and you have the makings of the biggest revolution in power user products in five years.

Something semi-related to this thread...
If I underclock my CPU to around ~1ghz (from 1.4) it will run stably with no active cpu cooling, only a standard heatsink. I can play whatever game with no freezing (although it might be sort of laggy). It's not a very good idea to touch the heatsink while doing this, though.

Yeah, not a few people underclock their machines precisely to do that.

Generally between 40 and 60 depending on what I'm doing at the time. Never really worried about it.
