Malkamar simply descended at a controlled pace, shaking his head. "A simple enough trap.. I wonder how deep this goes, the Underdark is not my cup of tea.."

Gaheris saw Erhart make his stroke against the door, and wheeled to circle lower, readying his bow to bring down anyone attempting to flee or mount the battlements.

Astinius continued to circle, waiting for that door be opened.

Torma shakes her head, watching Erhart He doesn't know subtelty, does he. And yes, she mangled the word, before arrowing down before Erharts next strike to hover in front of the door. *THIS* is how to knock down a door!

The door bursts open, and beyond it you find a massive shaft leading straight downward, and you hear the distant scrape of swords.

Laz and Nitram: You are about 40 feet down the shaft when you hear the soft tread of feet on stone below you, and a multitude of low voices echo upwards. You can hear the scrape of sword-on-scabbard, and then, a dozen black forms race upwards past you, jumping into the air and throwing a flurry of knives, 2 of which strike Malkamar in the shoulder.

I hold up my holy symbol to ward off the vampires.
"Helms power distroy you!"

I use my Quicken Turn feat to turn undead twice, one of them is at a -3, the other is at +1.

Malkamar shook his head; crazy vampires. He wasn't going to waste his power just yet, though. He poured on a sudden burst of speed, charging into battle as he swung his sword into one of the leading vampires. He didn't need a holy symbol for this...

The vampires, after flying upwards, cling to the walls and unleash volleys of crossbow bolts at Malkmar, 4 of them clipping him and one of the bolts hitting him square in the chest. They stay back from the cleric, obviously cautious of his formidable holy powers. One of the vampires, still below you, utters a single vicious word, and a horridly cold blast of air sweeps upwards, freezing and shattering 5 replicators. He mutters a longer incantation again, and a streak of lightning blasts the walls of the shaft, causing rubble to rain down on the cleric and destroying another 3 replicators.

I use my haste given speed to quicken turn undead (turn at -3), turn undead (turn at +1). I also spellcast Protection From Evil on myself to hedge out their dominate power.

"And that's sutble? " He asked the dragon with some surprise in his voice as he scanned the room they had entered. Many doors, all of them too thin for a warhorse to manuver through...not to mention the stairs. He sighed and shook his head, bringing Thunder to a halt before he swung over his leg and dismounted from the charger

"Don't worry old friend...you should be safe just outside..." He Murmured softly to Thunder and reached up with a hand to stroke the side of his mane. Thunder whinnied for a moment and turned carefully to trot back out of the tower to wait for his companion outside. Erhart gripped the shield and nodded slightly

Jax's turning attempt destroys 2 vampires in another violent flash of light.

The vampires clinging to walls above you let loose another hail of crossbow bolts at Malkmar, while one pulls out a slender wand and lets loose with a swarm of magic missiles, battering malkmar. The mage below you begins another incantion, and then the walls of the shaft begin to tremble and morph. Within moments, it seems as if the walls are alive, and they tremble again violently, then heave outwards, crushing malkmar and Jax. The walls reform a moment later, Jax and Malkamar still alive, barely.

I turn undead on my first move action (at +1).

On my second, I cast heal on myself.

On my third, I order two warrior replicators to drop down and distract the vamps by attacking them, and order to workers to seal up the passagle below them, trapping them.

Malkamar shook off the immense punishment he was taking; he could literally feel internal organs bent out of shape. Perhaps only his Netherese survivability was keeping him upright. "You boys need to consider who you're dealing with.. I'm not some idiot with a sword!" A burst of Spellfire roared out of him, racing into a group of three vampires and bursting apart in the famous Maelstrom Of Fire, incinerating.

(10 levels expended for a nice crispy flavour to the recipe)

Erhart looked to the shaft and shook his head vehemetly. He could not fly, nor use anything to break the fall. He sighed from being separated from the combat. He muttered dejectedly and stood guard near the shaft for any trying to escape

Nitram: The 3 vampires nearby explode in a shower of burning gore as your spellfire rips through them.
Laz: Your turning destroys another vampire. Your warrior replicators are dispatched within a few hits from the vampires.

Torma eyes the doors. True, she was smaller than Thunder, and thin enough to snake through the doors... but thre wasn't going to be much wing-room.... I don like this.....

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh! Torma whines in frustration. She couldn't use one of her Alternate Selves, as she still reflected her true age in them. In this kind of battle, a six-yr-old Elf would be even more useless.....

A gout of Blue Flame flew from the shaft, followed by the crash of Lightning Bolts. She couldn't stay here, with Thunder, she had to HELP.

Tormantineth made up her mind, scrabbling forward and diving down the shaft without another thought.... including the one on whether there'd be enough space for her to even use her wings to break her fall....
Unless, of course, she lands on a Vampire on the way down, that is.

The vampires suddenly jump down the shaft, dropping into the darkness. The whole shaft goes quiet again.
