My grandfather died two years ago from a complication during a normally safe heart procedier (the one where they remove blockage with a tube, I think). Does that mean we should ban it?

No, I'm not. Please don't kick me. The gist of the site was "look what can happen, it's unnescesary." There were also several photos showing damage to guys in gay porn photos, apparently they weren't even aware it's not supposed to look like that.

And I'm extremely sorry to hear about your gandfather. My dad has an anuerism that is next to impossible to operate on. My blood runs cold when I think about it.

I'm cut (rather loosely) and considering it was barbaric, the surgeon did a good job on me. If I had the chance, I'd deck him and my parents for even thinking about it!

But I do have to comment that your link pretty much said "Look what happens when you fuck up: don't fuck up." and not "Look what happens when you fuck up: don't do it".

Everything has risks, but properly done circumcision (especially done while the patient is an infant) has very little risk.

I have no doubt that the popularity of circumcision in the U.S. arose from some jerkwad 19th century puritanical quack who thought that de-sensitizing the penis is a really good and Godly thing. I know it's popularity is declining, but it still happens. I've instilled a few barbs of guilt into my mom for having it done, BTW.

The hygiene argument IS a joke, I second Wong's soap and water comment. As harmless as circumcision is in the grand scheme of things, it's still unnecessary, and performing unnecessary cosmetic surgery on infants just doesn't seem a very sensible thing to do.

What if the technology to engineer beard growth out of your male baby? Sure it would promote hygiene and personally I wouldn't mind not having to shave, but what about people who WANT beards later in life?

And one other thing - although the vast majority of cut men don't have any problems with it, there are people who want theirs back. I don't know of any uncut men who wish they were cut, and if they do exist, they CAN get it cut, of their own free will.

I was cut when I was a baby and I am fucking pissed off about it. The choice was taken away from me and now it will cost me my own money to reverse this. When I do have enough money, I intend on having it grown back and then I am going to bill my parents for the procedure.

No, it reduces sensitivity so that you last longer before you orgasm but the orgasm is just as strong.
