Some pretty awesome armor is dropping, too.
So... I guess that's the rolling restarts every couple days?
Looks like it. They're changing the severity of the infection daily. Now killing a plague roach will zombify you in under a minute. Ratchet was completely overrun by zombies today, I barely got out before they killed the flight master.

Too bad you can't farm them for easy Argent Dawn faction rep like Faxmonkey did when the Naxx world event happened. Love the monkey!

You can farm the 70 mobs that appear under each 'attacking' necropolis now. I got 1700 rep with AD in a single afternoon. Got the tabbard, too.

if they mean that Darkfallen (the ones that look like Kael in MgT but without the crystal and with a facemask) he's there already though he's lvl 73 elite and not skull.
now that they reintroduced the Scourge invasion, the zombies actually don't seem as bad a) as every frigging NPC in capitals isn't dead b)it ties into the previous Scourge MO from Warcraft 3.

I had problems last night even in Darnassus, where I'd gone specifically to avoid the death traps that Stormwind and IF had become.

The Zombie King just showed up in Ironforge, he is NOT a nice man.

some hints that might work if you want to avoid infection.
first never port to a city as it takes a moment to load and players seem to stalk the portal spawn locations.
second never fly straight to a city but rather land on a location near it (this allows you to come to cities ready to fight rather allowing zombies to get few "free blows" at you)
avoid really popular cities (Stormwind and Ironforge for alliance and Orgrimmar and Undercity for Horde) at peak hours (and if you have to loggout in these cities try to find a "safe" location).

Actually, on my server the favorite zombie Horde cities are Orgrimmar and Thunderbluff - for some reason Undercity is relatively unaffected. I have no idea why.

"Pissing in the sea" seems like a good enough analogy. It's already filled to the brim with undead, ain't it?

Probably because it's easier to get to the Argent Healers in UC, thus removing the infection.
Apparently, many of the AD Healers that were hanging around Orgrimmar have been removed, probably to make the plague worse there.

...thanks for the warning, I'll stay away from there for the next week or two. When I was there, Bloody Bay was getting hit badly, too - no-one knew WHERE the healer was, and half the NPCs were either zombied or infected.
Thank goodness for Aquatic Form...just jumped in the ocean when I got fed up, and swam north to Grom'gol. Incidentally, I am now richer than I've ever been by far, thanks to the herb prices. Over a hundred gold, and I'm not even level 35.

I now do all my banking at the Exodar, since it is STILL completely empty. On my server, Stormwind is a ghost town where people hide in the inn in the trade sector and are fighting valiantly to keep the auction house and bank clear (close to a healer). Ironforge is littered with bodies, and in outland Shattrath is a walking graveyard where I don't even touch the ground. Honor Hold was completely overrun.
Its interesting to see the new quests that are popping up, though. I took an ancient relic to King Magni, who declared it to be a revolutionary new power source. I wonder what's coming next.

Hmphf! Alliance gets "ancient relics" Me, I'm Horde - I got a diseased talking head that kept trying to seduce me to the dark side! Did get to drop it off with that Grimtotem bitch in Thunderbluff, though - hope it coughs on her.

She is pretty much the only unpleasant person in Thunder bluff, isn't she?
I hope that they manage to keep that city clear. It's my favorite town in all Azeroth, even my orc characters tend to move there.

Horde-side, Silvermoon city's usually clean of infection. The fact that it's so huge and patrolled by Arcane Guardians immune to infection probably help as well.
The funniest part was when a bunch of zombies tried to sneak into Silvermoon through the orb via UC, and wiped on Lor'themar pretty much instantly. Even them turning all the other NPCs in the room didn't help, he just carved through them.

Agreed. All the major horde cities on my server are simply no-go areas except Silvermoon. It seems that even when Silvermoon gets attacked, they only go to the east side Bank / AH areas, ignoring the west side Bazaar. Always wondered why Silvermoon had two banks and AH's, certainly coming in handy now.
I'm actually really enjoying this invasion, but I do have two 70's to pilot through it. I think my milage may well of varied if I was trying to level or was brand new to the game right now.
Edit: According to a blue post
here it seems that this phase of the invasion is over and shouldn't be any more roving herds of zombies in the very near future. Mixed feelings, it'll be good to get back to business, but I'll miss something different occurring.

One thing I really like about this is that it provides newer people an opportunity to get epic level gear that's on-par or better than heroic level stuff. Now we'll have plenty of well geared adventurers to hit the beaches of Northrend.

In my server, they started doing raid tactics to protect the auction house; ice traps and party heals and the like. People were bubbling just to get the mailbox.
Apparently, there was a glitch, and Cenarion Circle lost all of their argent dawn healers for a few hours. More zombies then you can possibly imagine.

Your's was definitely more chatty than mine, which disappointed me somewhat. However, it actually worked out quite nicely.
It basically went like this:
I spoke to a commoner in Stormwind, who asked me to go to the Bishop in Shattrath. So I hearth, fly over, talk to her. She gives me the relic, and asks me to bring it to Prophet Velen. Being in Shattrath, I go through the portal on the Terrace.
I'm halfway across the Terrace of Light when I hear, "Ah...there you are." I look around me, see nothing, then turn around and find myself face-to-face with a spectre (called Frozen Shade, I believe).
It looks at me coldly, and then says, "Say goodbye to the ones you love, paladin." And disappears.
That, and it was pleasing to talk to Velen and have him say, "I'm pleased to see that you have grown in power since I last spoke with you."

the gnomish kings response to receiving the relic was pretty funny.
"you have grown precisely 3.06 milicrons since the last time I saw you, must be the effects of microgravity from all that time you spent in outlands"
Despite his lack of involvement in anything, he is defiantly my favorite faction leader

it probably why UC wasn't hit that bad either as the Under City Guardians are abominations and thus undead already (aka immune) so you won't get such massive hordes (excuse the pun) of zombies as in Org, TB, alliance cities or shatt.

The problem with UC though is that everything (and everybody) is clustered close together, whereas in Silvermoon, you can somedays literally run around in circles throughout the entire city for five to ten minutes and not see another player.

Another major advantage UC had during the zombie plague was that the abomination guards are already undead, and thus immune to the disease, unlike all the other cities where any humanoid guard could become a carrier.

Creepy as they can sometimes be, those little flesh-bots are comedy gold.
Too bad they're stuck in the Alliance...

well the Arcane guardians in SMC are mechanical and thus immune and UC also has humanoid deathguard mobs though they're no as common as the abominations.
