The tree reflection pic is nice, but looks horribly cropped, or maybe a really low resolution shot? Shame, since it's such an elegant pic.

Well, there's a long story behind it, in short, the reflection was not intended to be the subject in the original photo so it was framed all wrong and I ended up cropping 90% of the photo.
Cherry blossoms in High Park. Everything is like a month early this year since we didn't have a proper Canadian winter.

That first photo "clicks" really well - it looks like a museum piece - Good light, light framing and the angle of the light.

Finally starting to work on my backlog of film and pictures:

Nice to see your pictures again, Phong. That second one is a really nice shot, even the streetlights work to frame the reflection instead of being obstructions.

Kodachrome is a royal PITA to scan.

How so? I've scanned a few of my dad's old slides, and Kodachrome doesn't come off any worse than any of the other 'chromes.
This is an un-adjusted scan, though I don't remember if I had the scanner software doing any auto-exposure or not.
Good to see you posting photos again too - did you end up rocking 645? I can't remember.

Ah, what the hell - I haven't posted anything here in long enough. One finished, two awaiting adjustments:
My output's been lowish lately - 1 roll to test a camera for function before I try to sell it; 1 roll just to play around with the Hawkeye Flash; and only 1 effort roll that I still haven't finished. Managed to finish scanning 2007's film, though, so only 2008 + my processing backlog and I'll be all caught up.

I usually end up having to do some color-correction in Lightroom to get it to where I want - my scanner tends to scan too blue and a slightly magenta tint. It certainly doesn't look the same as it does on the light table I have (of course, my scanner doesn't quite have the DMax needed for dense slides).

I ended up getting a Pentax 645N, as happens. It's a very fine camera and I have used it for street shooting - though it's kinda conspicuous (to put it mildly) and 75/2.8 is a bit slow at times (Mamiya and Contax have 80/2 645 lenses ... why couldn't Pentax?)
I'm actually tracking down a deal on a Fuji 690 - I seem to keep going larger and larger! At this rate I'll be carrying around a Speed Graphic. (Also might be able to score a deal on a Minolta CLE - fingers crossed)

Is it just me, or is there viginetting on the last picture? Or is it because of some shadow effect from the built in hood? It was rather bright that day.

I think it's just a side effect of the bright cloud in the middle with darker skies to the side.
