The plutonium is encased in... something! It might be coated in lead, or some kind of rad-blocking transparent material, but inside is plutonium!

It is encased in a spherical mass of iron. But not a solid one, obviously. So there's no telling how many juggatons it will take to vaporize it.

For those of you who may think that I am being mean to the kitties, do remember that the Chamarran Hierarchy is a state that abducts and tortures the citizens of other powers by the shipload (even if that power is the MEH), kidnaps scientists, and whose idea of a first contact is to blow up a fighter and capture another. Not to mention that bit about installing mind-control chips in their human subjects and brutally oppressing its AIs.
Have a very nice day.

Hell, pretty much every nation has extra-gribbly methods of some sort. The Union has "enhanced resocialization," for example, and IIRC CEID will pave and rebuild a person into a Manchurian candidate.

Holy crap, the kitties have invented the perfect anti-Solarian weapon. Imagine, dozens of Bragulan SPUDs with these warheads, crashing into Solarian hyperfields, overloading them, followed by a launches of other missiles with bragnukes tearing their into their defenseless hulls. It's a beautiful sight indeed
As for the Lost, the trapdoor system can transfer the object into another dimension (as proposed by Eric), or it transfers the
energy of the impact into another dimension (as in the source material I stole it from). So, we can just wait until the missile goes *splat* on the very thin layer of shields covering the hull and stops emitting the field, dealing with whatever kinetic energy comes our way.
Certainly unpleasant, but hardly an ultimate uber-weapon against the Lost.
Have a very nice day.

Hmm. That does lead to an interesting contradiction as to what hyperspace is to the technologies involved. The Chamarran Hyperspace tap works on the basis that hyperspace is chock full of energy and making a hole into it causes that energy to flow through. The Lost's hyperspace trapdoor seems to work on the basis that hyperspace is pretty empty otherwise opening a hole to it to toss the energy of the attack through would be counter productive due to all the other energy pouring the other way into the space around the Lost's ship. So one of us isn't using conventional hyperspace as their go to for extradimensional space of convenience.
That being said the Hierarchy don't know the Lost's ships can defensively vortex energy as well as matter away so the cover story for the project is that taking a portal device connected to dimension X and making it go to dimension Y would cause bad things to happen to the Lost vessel which was trying these shennanigans. The real story is that Shiran just wants to make the Tap missiles and sees the Lost threat as convenient way to get funding for exotic warhead research.

I have a solution; subspace is empty. Hyperspace is full.
Or perhaps it varies, and the two of you just use different parts of it.

The easiest way to get around that is to have my ships funnel the energy/impact to a dimension other than hyperspace

He should move to Umeria and become a Mad Scientist. He gets more resources, cool minions, and doesn't have to deal with the kitties (and not being a discriminated gender helps, too)

There were "Greater Good" Bragulans too. All put to the sword courtesy of the Imperium Inc. We kill Xenos for free. We had Byzon's singing endorsement too.

"Out past civilized space" being the key here. I doubt there are CEID killbots on that station in the middle of nowhere

I must say Steve, Nika is my new favorite lesbian. She shoots the bad guys in the head rather than tying them up, so much quicker, safer and more efficient.

Solarian hyperfields
also have a trap door function (briefly referred to, for example,
here).
'Course even if they hadn't you'd still have to hit the Solarian ship first, and a giant cumbersome missile may not be the best way to do it. Although they're certainly welcome to try -- we never got around to beating up on each other the last time around

Ah, so it's
your tech that is inconsistent with the kitties
We should really all standardize how this stuff works, so we don't get things like the Chamarran hyperspace being incredibly energetic and possible to tap as a source of power, while Solarian hyperspace being the opposite.
Have a very nice day.

What happens when that big cumbersome missile breaks open to reveal many smaller and far less cumbersome missiles? Multiple Independent Revengeance Vehicles! Da!

Also, DIE HARD WITH LESBIANS. LES HARD!
One minor note though, when suffering bad burns, you're not supposed to dress it or cover it with ointments or anything. All you do is run water on it. Dressing it just gets the dressing stuck on the burns, and when you reach the hostipal you'll have to remove those stuck dressings anyway. The dressings can later lead to infections also.
This is useful nuersing advice in case if you DO get burned in real life!
