At some point, I should feel sorry for Cleveland, but, well, I thought Manziel's being a shitweasel was well-known.
Though the way Gruden was sucking his balls last night, you'd have thought he was the moschiach.

THE BILLS ARE FUCKING IDIOTS.
The Buffalo Bills moved quickly Friday to thin their crowded wide receivers corps.
The San Francisco 49ers acquired Bills receiver Stevie Johnson for a mid-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported. ESPN first reported the news.
The pick is a conditional fourth-rounder that could become a third-rounder, according to a source.
So...you trade two firsts and a fourth to Cleveland to get Sammy Watkins.
Then you give up Stevie Johnson for a fourth.
In essence, you just gave up two firsts and Stevie Johnson, the only receiver to constantly give Revis trouble and a great route runner, to draft Sammy Watkins. WTF.
Oh and you already took an 8m cap hit this year on Johnson to boot.

I don't care who he was paid by, although one of the guys who paid him is in fact associated with the school. The NCAA hammered the shit out of USC for an agent paying a player to leave early and told them that they "should have known" and that "high profile players require high level supervision." It bothers the hell out of me that they were the only team in the last 10 years to receive any real punishment when they were actually hurt by the involvement of money rather than helped like all these SEC teams. Auburn, Alabama, Oregon, Miami, Ohio State and LSU at the very least should all be serving 3 year bowl bans by the standards set in the USC case.
Sounds like your real beef is with the NCAA.
Partially, but when you dodge a bullet like he did, and you don't have the common fucking decency to at least show a little humility and gratitude that you didn't get hammered, you're a shitty human being.

I really like this move for the Niners. Sure they potentially will be giving up a third round pick (although if that's the case it means he's being successful), and he's coming off a down year, but I think a lot of that had to do with the QBs he was playing with.
And it's not just Revis he gives trouble to. There is a guy out in Seattle that he's had success against in the past:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1655 ... -you-think
Sure he occasionally gets the dropsies, but he's a guy you've got to devote a lot of attention to as a defense or he'll burn you. Should be some interesting 3 wide receiver sets, with Johnson and Crabtree outside, Boldin in the slot and Davis wreaking havoc from the tight end position.

Only an idiot would not love this for the niners. I don't get the bills.

The Niners made out like bandits, getting one of the few receivers who consistently burned Revis and Sherman for only a 4th that might turn into a 3rd. Reminds me of the Skins swiping Henry Ellard from the Rams -one of the few receivers who habitually PWNED Deion Sanders and Kevin Smith, and letting him put the torch to the Cowboys secondary.
It's quite a steal since the Niners already have a loaded roster and more picks than they have any use for. Have has two good reasons to gloat in less than 24 hours.

And the Texans start tonight with the best guard on the board. Guards and running backs have really been devalued recently, haven't they?

Not really IMO. Guards were always late 1st rounders so having the best one go 33 in aWR and DB heavy draft....

I haven't seen a player as gifted as Gordon go out of his way to put his own career in the shitter since Chuck Muncie. What a waste.

I don't mean just this season, but the last several.

Well part of it is that the pulling guard has been extinct in the NFL since about 2000 when Mark Schlereth retired. Most guards are second-rate tackles these days, and fullbacks and TEs handle pulling/trapping duties. This becomes a kind of feedback loop because someone big and athletic will try to play tackle, TE or fullback because guard
is undervalued.
Atlanta needed help everywhere on the D-line, so taking a tackle over an end isn't that big a deal, and everyone seems high on the guy they took.

Also, this new format for the draft sucks. It is no fun knowing your team has already picked but NFL is three teams backed up.
Oh joy, another commercial.

So we take DT Jernigan. BPA, but man....we need an RT, FS, RB (lesser needs WR and TE) and so far we got none of them. Considering we are unlikely to get starters after round 3 and only got 2 selections left....man. And... we already drafted Brandon Williams as DT last year.
And we got no reinforcements for our offence at all so far in the draft. Are we really going to let Flacco get sacked so often again?
In Ozzie we trust. And getting a top 20 talent at this point is good.

The niners are nailing this draft. THey get Stevie Johnson and Carlos Hyde basically for their 2nd round pick.

Mallet isn't very good, and they like this guy in 3 or 4 years to take over for Brady?

Doesn't really make sense considering they have to pay him top money then and waste 3 yrs of his rookie contract.
