To be honest, there are a lot of ASVS in-jokes, but the sequel will deal very heavily with Spacebattles (and the plot is VERY good, from what I've seen).
The prequel is something nobody will get unless they're ASVSers through and through, or at least have read the histories.
There might potentially be some SD.net in-jokes as well. These forums already have a rich history
