I don't think its about behaviors straddling that thin line of being mysterious and funny as much as its about the girls attraction to the guy doing the behavior. When a girl is attracted to a guy, and cares for him, and all those fuzzy, luvvy-dovey things, she'll find his eccentricities, foibles, and quirks endearing, while on the the other hand, will find those eccentricities, foibles, and quirks annoying, disgusting and impossible to deal with if she doesn't feel hot in the ass for the guy.

Well the Virgin Mary was knocked up so treating her like that is more likely to get you a paternity case and a petition for child support . Anyway you are right that the eccentricites which straddle the line are just as cute/mysterious as the girl wants them to be. thus the real key here is show some of your eccentircities as it is usually the quickest test to whether a girl finds you interesting, if she puts up with them then you've got a really good chance. If she doesn't...well you've only done it once and can probably recover easily enough and try to win her over so that, in the future, the eccentricities will be acceptable.
