Add me on ICQ (
3295836) or AIM (
KurganJKnet) and I'll hook you up. Many of these mods I have on cd and have collected from various places. PCgamemods.com is a good place to start but it's so crammed it can be daunting for beginners. Decent single player mods are more rare though anyway...
First install the official 1.01 patch from LucasArts.com (or many other sites), the rest I can send you (skins, voice packs, enhancements, fan patches). As far as SP maps, I don't really have any, that's something you'll have to find on your own (and post here if you like if you find any good ones).
Incidentally you don't "have" to play the Single Player campaign first. Beating SP really won't prepare you for MP because the gameplay is significantly different (ie: weapons, powers, and moves are changed around... just like Jedi Outcast did it). It's a great SP campaign don't get me wrong, but I'm just saying beating the SP game is poor training for MP.

Okay, I'll just start adding text at random.
Maybe if you told me what to change?
(I've already tried changing monitor resolution and the color settings; neither of which work.)
To avoid bogging down this thread about the server with Tech support stuff, can you please split another thread?
Or may I recommend my forum's Tech Support section? (note: this is a FAN SITE but with 90,000+ members, you should get some help on there if you can't search and find the answer to your question)

The version I have is v1.01, anyways.

Well the first thing I'd suggest is check your standby settings in control panel. Make sure your video card and monitor drivers are up to date and working.
You could run the system analyzer program that was included with JA (on the CD if you deleted it from your HDD) and run all the tests to make sure they all pass.
Other than that I don't know.

I updated my drivers about two months ago. There could be newer drivers out- but I don't think it would made a difference for such an old game.
And yes, all the tests pass.

You'd be surprised actually. Dynamic glow in JA didn't work for me until I upgraded my drivers in the second to the most recent update. Never discount the ability of new drivers to possibly fix something.

Just another quick reminder.. JediKnight.net is down, which means the server tracker on my strategy site is also down. However the SERVER ITSELF is STILL UP.
Just use your favorites, All-Seeing-Eye or Qtracker to monitor until JK.net comes back (I'm not sure if it's just a glitch on JK.net's server or a server move or whatever, but it might be hours before that is back).

I ran the analysis like the help file suggests, and it says that the default.cfg cannot be found. I reinstalled the game, but I'm still getting the same error.

Create a file called default.cfg then (I assume you mean JA is asking for that file, not the analyzer program). Take your jampconfig.cfg and just copy and paste what's in it to a word file and name it that. Make sure the extension is cfg (and not doc or txt).
See if that helps... if all else fails see Yoda's Help Desk at LucasArts.com. Or post on LucasForums as I suggested. LucasArts has a help forum, but I posted something there once and never got a reply. So you may not have much luck at the official forum... ;P
JK.net is back! While I'm away (starting today) Lathain is the admin in charge, and don't worry, he plays by my rules.

MB2 is not like an RPG at all really. Its more like Team Fortress with points like Counter Strike. Personally, I think its better than base siege. There is more emphasis on teamwork and NO tripmines. The saber system has been pretty much totally revamped. No more katas, just a few of the acrobatic moves. The sabers also force you to ballence betweeen attacking and defending.
But hey, if you got a good connection, you should dl it and check it out.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. The whole "leveling up" thing combined with the "Star Wars realism" gave me an RPG lite vibe. I have never played CS, so I can only guess how similar they are.

@#$(*&#! I love trip mines...

That's what I'm afraid of. I have yet to see a revised saber system that I really liked. Though ProMod 3.1 may have been an improvement (over JK2's back in the day). A friend of mine who's a hardcore saberist hates the MB2 system. On video it looks crappy, but I can't really say since I haven't tried it yet.
I actually downloaded it back in the day but I haven't gotten the latest version. I am amazed there are so many servers. I figured such a large mod wouldn't be used. But I guess it has some hardcore followers.
Still, I will express the opinion that I wish these developers would also create some new Siege scenarios, rather than restricting all their work to MB2. No offense. Maybe I'll change my mind if I ever get into the mod...

There is no such thing as 'jampconfig.cfg'. I did me a search.

It should if you've ever run multiplayer before. It is auto generated by jamp.exe. Did you check the tech support site or the forum I suggested yet? You'll get far more help there than waiting for me to analyse your problem from this lab computer every day or so... just saying.
If you post there you'll get plenty of help in a much faster manner.

Um, I can't connect anymore. It tells me that I need a file, and that the server won't let me download it. I've got OJP installed. What's going on?

Did you go into your setup and make sure that "auto downloading" is set to off? If it's on, you'll never be able to join any server that has any mods, because you will try to download them but the server has it off so you'll never get in, period.
My server has auto downloading off and always has (unless Lath or Razor accidentally turned it on.. I'll check this as soon as I can) been that way.
Disable it on your end and you should be able to connect again. Auto downloading is just too slow when anything beyond a few tiny files are involved (and this server has huge map packs and things that would take hours if you honestly downloaded them all straight from the server).
Update: Yes, it's set to off on the server, so the problem is on your end. Simple to fix. Just remember to turn that off when you join.

Okay I'm finally back.

I'll be pretty busy though, but Razor has updated OJP so the server should be even better than ever!

Okay, if anybody is on tonight, we're testing out ASTEROIDS MOD (the one with the updated star destroyer siege map and new starfighters) on the server, so if you want to help test (if I can get the thing setup that is) please download
Asteroids Mod from PCGamemods.com, LucasFiles.com or wherever fine Jedi Academy mods are found.
Remember, this was designed by Raven Software, but we're just tweaking it to work with OJP so there may be bugs. But hopefully it should be playable already. Thanks everyone!
Btw, I see someone has replied to your thread on Lucasforums.

Okay this isn't TN, but I'm serving this as notice that I will be pretty scarce around the server of late because I'm moving to a new city (and state) and getting a new ISP. Going back to school means far less time (if any) for games as well.
But that said, the server itself will remain, and we have two dedicated admins who'll make sure your usual regimen of fragging and team battling will go as smoothly as possible: Lathain and Cannoli.
In the words of the wonderful Wizard of Oz:
Obey them as you would me!

Sorry if this is necro'in the thread (as it's pretty far down the page) but I'm considering installing JA on my new comp, maybe also Jedi Outcast... any suggestions as to what to get to help it along? I'm also rather interested in this MP thing...
(Be gentle though, I've *never* played MP online...

Download OJP Basic mod and use that. The bots in it are far superior to basejka!
http://ojp.jediknight.net
This is also the mod we use on the server (albeit the site usually doesn't list the latest version... the server always has the very latest one!).
