He probably just searched for "Ph.Ds with Aspergers". Or "Famous People with Aspergers".

I was using them as an example that Asperger's Syndrome isn't a severe disability, and that there's plenty of very influential people throughout history with it.

Except we never said that, but we DID say that it IS a disability and you can dress it up pretty and trot out pretty horses, but its still a disability and a handicap.

I may be Socially Handicapped, but it doesn't affect my ability to function (too much at least).

I wonder has it occured to anyone here that the advantages of autism, such that there are, would be easy enough to keep without the disadvantages, utilising SW genetech.

Asumming SW humans have the same DNA, it would be incredibly hard to isolate, there is so much cross dependent stuff that I doubt we can isolate the advanteges.

I'm surprised this thread has continued for this long. The mods must either be asleep or afk.. either that or they're enjoying this.

I have the sense that this thread was made with the sole purpose so that Dakarne could make himself feel better about his condition and how great it would be to have it, probably not in this world, but the Star Wars world. And I just have two things to say:

1) An online community that knows almost nothing about your syndrome, is made up of angry and unsympathetic nerds, is HARDLY the best place to look for someone to pat your head and say, "Yes yes, you'd make a great Jedi."

2) Actually, I'm pretty sure Stormtroopers would be diagnosed with Asperger if one came to Earth with the way they are genetically modified and trained. They only have one purpose in life, they're probably immune to be phazed by most body languages (though it doesn't mean they can't read it), they all have normal IQs, and since it was programmed into them, it's a neurobiological thing as well. Does that make you happy now?

In the more civilized worlds, I doubt you'd see many cases, their medical technology is far beyond ours. Though if they tolerated Jar Jar Binks, don't you think they'd tolerate someone with autism, or did you think they'd lop off their heads with their lightsaber?
