When California closes, Obama's count will be increased by 55, not to mention OR & WA's 19 total votes.

I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers at this point, remember California and its massive amount of electoral votes. Just focus on those nine swings states.

And this number is pretty meaningless if you remember that the west coast, a pretty safe win for Obama, holds a whooping 74.

Yes. A LOT of red states just got called; once the West is called, you'll see Obama's numbers jump, and I get the feeling that a few calls on swing states will be made soon.

Doesn't Washington have 13 votes now instead of 12?

Wow, North Carolina and Florida are close. Virginia is starting to tighten up as well.

No, we have 12. We had 11 last election cycle.

Missouri is tilting more and more towards Romney. No surprise there.

(only important to me because I live here)

LMAO, look at Florida's numbers.

MSNBC has 81% reporting, 3519315 for Romney, 3518679 for Obama.

Obama Announces We Are Invading Iran Right Now

WASHINGTON—Addressing the nation from the Oval Office this evening, President Barack Obama announced that a full-scale U.S. military invasion of the Islamic Republic of Iran is currently underway. “At this hour, we have deployed approximately 200,000 troops across the Iran-Iraq border as part of a multipronged military offensive against Iran,” said Obama, who confirmed the decision to invade was made unilaterally, without the explicit consent of any other world leaders. “To be clear: We are at war with the nation of Iran. On my orders, American forces have fully mobilized and begun striking selected targets with the aim of crippling Iranian nuclear infrastructure. These are the opening stages of what will be a long-term, protracted campaign.” Obama went on to dismiss the invasion’s impact on the presidential election, sternly reminding citizens that “we are in a time of war right now.”

Watching this a bit on Fox News, the blame game has begun!
To be honest, Blayne, Florida is not decided. There is no point in trying to figure out who 'won' Florida until tomorrow morning. And it'll probably be longer than that.

Broward county is still only about half counted, and that's a heavily democratic county.

Nate Silver of 538 is reporting that Obama's numbers in Ohio look really promising. If Obama wins Ohio, things will start to look bleak for Romney.

Not quite as important as Ohio/Florida, but Colorado is at 51% for Obama.

OK, correction.

It is unlikely that Florida will be decided this evening given how close people expected it to be. It might be a wider spread than that and called quickly, but sitting on the edge of your seat watching it go back and forth is a waste of energy. What it looks like now is no indication of what it'll look like in half an hour.

If by "bleak," you mean "fucking hopeless." Romney literally can't win without it at this point.
