Thanks Crazy. I didn't notice until now...YESSSSSSSS

But I wonder how many pages my next fic is going to generate? I am currently working on starting up a new fic in the Star Crossed vein that will soon be ready for deployment. Considering that this story is finally coming down the home stretch I did not want my loyal readers getting any kind of cold turkey withdrawals once this ends...so very soon we may see the first chapter of a new story. (No, NOT tomorrow, but soon)

Teaser:

Setting: The Clone War Era

Synopsis: The Republic reeling from massive casualties suffered in the third year of the clone wars finds a wormhole in a forgotten sector that leads to the Federation: TOS era Federation and forms an alliance against the soulless mechanical hordes of the Separtists. An untried Captain named Kirk leads a squadron of legendary Federation commanders: Robert April FIRST captain of the Enterprise. Garth of Izar: Military genius of the Federation. To join the Jedi and the Republic's Fleets in the final battles of the clone wars. Meanwhile Anakin Skywalker is slowly falling to the Dark side and the decisions he makes now will echo on into the future.

The Trade Federation trying to press the attacks to crush the weakening Republic finds a wormhole in a remote part of their space that leads to TNG era Trek. They form an alliance with the TNG era Federation to combat the Oppressive government that even treats humans as nothing more than products to be mass assembled must have their vast numerical superiortiy countered with robotic armies. The Separatists want freedom, and the TNG era Federation answers the call to restore freedom in the galaxy led by Jean Luc Picard, Benjamin Sisko and Catherine Janeway the TNG era Fedeartion enters into a temporal civil war with itself and the Old Republic to bring freedom into the galaxy.

Stravo..Star-Crossed kicks extreamly much arse :).
One of the best non-proffesional fan-fics ive ever read.
One thing....I had hoped Picard would have played a bigger role in the story.
But thats a personal preference only :).

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Not to beat the dead dog, but if ANYONE can find ANY quotes where they have claims of redubbing the stormies, Padme in ROTJ, or Hayden in the Vader suit in ROTJ, then I'll be satisfied, but so far all I've seen in unsubstanciated infinitely perpetuated rumor BS.

Besides, I need new quotes for my personal database. If anyone has ANYTHING please PM me w/ it.

Really? What's it about? Could you PM me w/ some info?

One more thing: does anyone know what page (if it is even in this thread) where Stravo had the brief Teaser on his TOS vs TNG in the Clone War era fic?

Great work, Stravo. I find the (possibly) deadly rivalry between Piett and Jerrjirod excellent. I've always heard about the cutthroat nature of the Imperial Navy, and it is nice to see it in a story.

Stravo:

Remember to keep scale in perspective to some degree, one thing I'm worried about is how the TOS and TNG Federations will be portrayed in any remotely realistic way, as the TOS Federation's ships are far too weak and far too few to be seeing them in many important battles, though going by Alyeska's exaggerated (IMHO) 12,000 post-Dominion War ship count might make them somewhat considerable.

But modification...

Constitution-class cruisers equipped with supplementary hypermatter reactors from SW shuttles or something instead of warp cores, and their impulse drives replaces with ion engines. Capital-class concussion missiles fired from their photon torpedo tubes...phasers upgraded to take the pure power from a hypermatter reactor  They could serve at quick gunships able to run areas of gravitational interference.

Ah...the potential. I can't wait.

Well too be fair we've only seen the Feds in two major battles, I think, that is Earth and Vulcan, and in either scenario they took VERY heavy casualties, and so they've backed off to the Exaclibur.

Don't get started on the "How to Reverse Engineer an Imperial Star Destroyer 101" classes all the Feddies supposedly take. Although the Leia and Co. might be able to help with that aspect, they're all busy with the Excalibur anyways. But the missle thing might work....

That looks to rule. I eagerly await it. Only problem I see is that the Clone wars are only 2 years long apparently (unless something weird goes on with Episode 3) so unless you cover that it's a bit of a glitch.

Illuminatus, I take it that you are referring to the upcoming fanfic and yes you are correct, the fleet numbers for TOS Trek are significantly lower than the TNG era fleet. I personally do not agree with some of the ridiculous fleet numbers tossed out by some folks but I know that the TNG fleet is larger just by dint of the number of ships seen in both series and the fact the Federation is simply much larger than TOS era.

I have found a way around this problem that will be revealed in the story.

As to upgrades, that will be in the story as each government needs to get their ally up to speed so that they can make a difference in the war effort. This process will be realistic in the fact that it will be slow and full of bugs but in the end, prepare to see some deadly battles with Galaxy class ships armed with turbolaser batteries and Consistutions sporting banks of Concussion and Proton torpedoe launchers.

But in the end the story will not be so much about the wars as in the battles but depicts the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker and the rise of a new commander named Kirk as well as shining a spotlight on some rarely metioned but always interesting TOS Captains and characters.

I want to capture that feeling of legends before they became legends, exploring the settings of the adventures we have come to know and love. The Clone Wars era sets up the OT of Wars and I want to explore what made Anakin turn, why is Vader the way he is and how could the Empire manipulate the Jedi and the Republic to both commit genoicde (the Jedi purge) and willingly give up their freedom. We will see the birth of the Rebel Alliance (with a Trek twist).

I also want to explore what makes Captain Kirk the legend that he is, how did this young Captain full of fire and a stickler for regulations (as per Gary and a few older acquaintances) become the womanizer and general Cowboy that he later becomes. I want to see the Federation as it was and the seeds for the Federation that will be.

This is a tale not so much about battles and which ships are better than others, but as always its about the PEOPLE that populate these interesting times and what woudl happen if legends that will be from other galaxies met each other.

Oh and Ender that IS a glitch. I assumed the Clone wars were around 3-4 years long. If its two then this story takes place near the end of the first year of that war when the Republic and the Jedi are losing badly.

As always Warsies will have to forgive me if I upgun Fed ships and downgrade Wars ships to make it at least interesting, but people here know my track record so trust me that things will pan out in the end.

As always, keep in mind that this tale could be COMPLETELY blown out of the water by events of Ep. III, but an author can dream right?

If ep3 happens 2 years after AOTC, how do you figure?

I suppose you could argue that they lump all conflicts with the trade intrests and OR together (thus the plurality of war in the title of Clone Wars) and use that to extend the conflict and resolve the EU tmeline problems, but that would mean it lasted 15 or so years, not 3.

If you focus on characters, you get Starcrossed, Manifest Destiny, Conquest, and the Against all odds saga. When you focus on numbers, you get Star Destroyers Rampant. Guess which one is preferred?

Stravo, while I'm posting here I'd like to take a moment to compliment you on your excellent story! Without taking sides on the ST/SW issue, you've written an incredible tale that brings many old favorites to new life. I'm primarily a Star Trek fan, though I've enjoyed Star Wars for over a decade now, so I've appreciated BOTH sides of this conflict.

I've been reading the story regularly for several months, and since I've registered this evening, I figured I'd better drop by and give a little "thank you." :)
