My own view on the first war is that Khitan kicks some ass, then gets it's kick teeth in.


The Great War Khitan fighting is limited to it's Navy, remember the bit about Khitan is that it's highly isolated except via the ocean. The mountains along the western side of the country are Himalayas quality, big goddamn mountains, the few passes invested until the late 1800's with outright bandit clans and warlords. Overland invasion is impossible except over mountains or through few twisty passes. Of course Modern Khitan have spend large sums on tunnels through these mountains, highways in some passes, but otherwise your still talking about large untouched mountain forests and glaciers.

So during the first Great War Khitan will sell it's navy to the losing side(Which-ever that is) for large sums of cash, capturing soldiers and sailors to sell back to their host countries(Even midwar, the leadership at this period in time is rather bad)

In fact I'd even throw in a humorous bit about a Admiral captured when Khitan uses it's larger numbers to smash a isolation portion of someone's fleet is sold back mid-way to their home country only to be put back in command and lead the attack during the final naval battle of the war.

Khitan, your one stop shopping for Mongol Hordes, Middle Kingdom thinking and South Asia Madness

So to the West, you have an ocean. To the East, you have the Swiss Alps on steroids. And everyone inside goes crazy?

I had a conversation with Shroom and we have an idea. It goes something like this:

The Shadow Empire was a larger nation before the second WW but it feel apart after WW2 and a lot of smaller states appeared. Basically third world shitholes except for the USSR. We were the lucky ones.

This could give us some interesting NPC states on the old continent besides the Arabs.

Maybe after War of the Worlds 2, Stas managed to turn a HUEG part of the Shadow Empire into the United Socialist Shadow Republics.

But the remaining un-USSR parts were gobbled up by the LOSS/FUN... but we fucked up and we ended up with a Balkanized Super Chechnya.

I’d appreciate people not declaring any Co Property Spheres, because I already have one worked into Japanistan, though once the game begins more members may be ‘invited’. Basically around 1970 the island of Sumatra broke out into a Christian-Muslim civil war with its small population of ethnic Japanistanis caught in the middle. This island had been occupied for periods before by Japanistan, but it was allowed to go its own way after the great wars and new economic policy forced a cutback on Imperial military expenditure.

Anyway, Japanistan convinced the Christians to allow them in to stage an evacuation at bayonet point, and then with a bridgehead established Japanistan took over the whole island. It smashed both sides, and installed a new government run by the local Japanistanis, then integrated it into Japanistan via declaring that it was now an equal member with Imperial Japanistan in the Co Property Sphere of the Chrysanthemum Throne. Ever since then a low to medium intensity insurgency has been waged in the jungles of Sumatra, but terrorist’s attacks stemming from this insurgency have only served as pretext for ever greater Japanistani control and for more repression in general. In fact…. Some have even accused Japanistan of making false flag attacks with its own special forces to inflame the conflict… but of course Japanistan denies any such actions

Hrm... how about your nation's involvement in the previous War of the Worlds 1 and 2?

I'm not declaring anything, though... just suggesting past events and stuff. I mean, I'm sure you don't want to miss out on the fun and joys of a World War!


Dudes, it just occurred to me, though. It might get difficult if we have too many NPCs.

So I propose:


Old Continent NPCs: Arab States and Super Chechnya

The Arab states will plague Byzantium and Canissia, since they're near that region.

Super Chechnya is between the United Shadow Socialist Republic (USSR) and PeZookia. Super Chechnya is basically a post-WW2 former-Shadow Empire shithole. They will bother Shroomania too.

Remember in SDN 1 how Shady kept on trying to kill me and PeZook? Well, he gets carte blanche now


Frequesue NPCs: Terra Libertia 2: Return of the Revenge?


"Pacific Region" NPCs: Well... I don't know.

But with Shepistan and Japistan, I am certain the MESS will be in for quite a mess with those guys!

Most of the smaller inner nations would be either desert or jungle but basically irrevocably fucked up and locked in constant low-level warfare with each other. Some of the bigger ones might be fairly well off -- and Indhopal gets its Congo next door to muck about in .

The rust-red nation directly underneath San Dorado is called Tanstaafl and would maintain cordial relations with the city-state. Which probably means we jointly gang up on the yellow Somalia-analogue next door.

What say my fellow Frequesuans?

1. I like the new waterway/political map.
2. I'm going to claim naming the nation south of me, I just have to think of a name/history.
3. We, the Frequesuans, should try to unify our War Torn Continent to protect from outside invasion. Because I fear that if one falls the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.

Oh, Pretty . Anyways, it looks basically good to me. That is a large number of NPC nations though. Perhaps we could combine a couple of the smaller ones? We don't want to have to do too much with all of them as we already have our own nations to lead.

Here’s an idea for the general situation: some nations could be poor, fairly stable, and not really do much, and a few others could be "problem states" where most of the shit in the continent comes from. The problem states would threaten to destabilize the bland but relatively stable poor nations and so forth. This means some areas are bad off to start with, but shit could get a whole lot worse.

Looks very good, but I agree with Raj Ahten in that some of them should be combined. Plus I think the Congo analogue should be-bigger, considering how huge Congo itself is.

Yeah, I think all those from Indhopal to the inner string of lakes should all be one, at most two, states. Congo/Zaire is BIG, but weak and full of squabbling little bands, so uniting them all won't automatically make it dominant.

That is a very nice map, though why do I feel that nobody's gonna give a fuck about a lot of those other NPC nations?

Right, in hindsight I agree with you guys. So, without further ado:



The huge green lap of stuff is not actually a nation but one big-ass jungle with a particularly nasty tendency to swallow any army sent into it. Think filled to the brim with militias, indiginous tribes, nasty animals, poisonous plants, and nutcases that would make Colonel Kurtz look positively sane and rational. Bad lands that make Vietnam seem like a cakewalk, basically.

Congo is now huge as well, and the dark blue and fleshy-coloured nation on the west bank of the Great Lakes have been unified into a single nation. I propose it and the nation above it (in pink-ish) were previously one nation but have been embroiled in a north-south civil war for decades by now, effectively making them two nations.

Some of those places could change Presidents every month and no one would notice.

Super Alps are to the West, Ocean to the East, Not the Alps, the Himalayas, there are a dozen valley towns even small cities in those mountains but the great amount of the population lives along the inside and along the coasts, you have great vast spreads of farmland and Mongolian style grasslands.

The southern coast is a split between heavy rocket outcrops, tiny barrier coastal islands. And traditional sheltered beaches.

Assuming Shroomania drafted colonial troops, there would be some Sirnothi Foreign Legions. We weren't technically independent at this point, so Sirnoth would probably just be a footnote on a historical OOB.
