You're right, this could be crazier. It could have Team L.A.M.E. in it.

Out of context and out of universe Fin, i have twenty ships of the wall at this event. Try anything stupid the Lance of Damocles will be swiftly melted down and its metal used to build a monument to the Tau Refugees who made their way to the commonwealth to escape the evil genocidal clutches of the Byzatines and a thousand museums dedicated to denouncing the idiocy of Bigotry and the fundamental folly of any connection between church and state.

Nah. We have something bigger. If by anything, both Shroom and I have long decided that this was a one way trip in the worst case scenario. Mind, I have no intention of claiming all credit for this stunt.

I wonder, does Nova Atlantis also harbor any Dilgrud "refugees" fleeing from the evil Anglians that subjugated their race and brought them to the brink of extinction?

What makes you think the Byzantines and Bragulans are so unsubtle as to pick an actual
fight with a fleet that outguns them that drastically even
before their hosts' fleet is factored in?

No, the Anglians were not genocidal in their activities and Dilgrud did much of the damage to themselves.

So yeah is this event near the end of January? Cause if so i can maybe rush the Carnivore's through trials and have something to participate in the fleet review with seen as all my heavier capships are busy preparing for mehstomp.

Shiny.
I have this sudden image of a covert-ops FREEDOM PRIME going up against the Third Protocol bots!
"FREEDOMIZING is the right of all sentient beings!"
"So is not being blown to bits."
We'd finally find out what happens when the irresistible farce meets the immovable objective.

I'm going to try to get up a NSAS Turtles story in tonight, as I foresee me being unable to do much for about a week, as I'm going to have to pay my internet late in order to afford more important things like "rent." I'll still have a work computer to access stuff from, but only for a little bit of time a day and I don't feel comfortable trying to write a story from my work desk. Just a bit of a heads up.

We, at least, are avoiding sticking our fingers into the blender.
The Humanist Union funds and arms socialist revolutionaries abroad - probably some of those easy arms have reached the Outlands - but with the Union's current recession and the strategic unimportance of the Outlands to the Union, the government is wary to get
too involved.
I had been considering a humanitarian intervention before the UN beat me to the punch - fly a subfleet out, establish a base of operations for refugees, kill any rabble-rousers with extreme prejudice, and ultimately arm and indoctrinate the interested.
For us, the Feelipeenis are somewhat more interesting; fewer well-armed parties vying for control, closer to home, and sliiiightlu less sticky re: relations with the Centrality. There are the Umerians (as a neighbor) and the Shepistanis (as an enemy) to consider there, not to mention the Centrality, but it's still an area of interest for my government.

At the time there were probably quite a few elements of Anglian government and society talking about doing to the Dilgrud what the Imperium did to the Tau and the Dominion and Shepistan to the Amplitur, especially as the casualties from planetary invasions kept going up. And if not for Tugaliar surrendering, stating "there is no honor in extinction", the Dilgrud
would be extinct. So I'm not sure how anyone would consider the two things different until after the fact, when the Anglians held back instead of finishing the Dilgrud off. And I'd suspect things like Atlantean statements and offers of refugee settlement would have been made already.

Plus, the Dilgrud were sheer raving gibbering xenophobes; they would most likely prefer to strike off into the interstellar wilderness on their own than accept a home in a decadent human state such as the Atlantean Commonwealth.
And of course there's the fear that they'll wind up known as the Dligurd or some such...
