Grrr.... not a good time to get an attack of Homeworld fever and writing burnout....
Oh, and a point to make. There are some people who haven't posted much, or at all. If you're doing such because you're trying to get together colossal story posts like some of us are doing... don't. You don't need massive story posts to participate, participate to whichever level you feel comfortable.

Obviously the Bragulans are in fact Bear-Moreaus (Furries taken to their logical conclusion) rather than Aliens. Nothing that extensive reversal surgeries won't solve.

It is a very awesome movie. I need to pick up the DVD one of these days. I do have it on VHS, for all the good
that is anymore.
So, who married the prom queen?

Siege wrote:It is indeed appropriately creepy, although I don't think the Sovereignty's CIs will have much good to say about the Core's personality integration...
The Core is not a single superintelligence, but a collective mind with free joining and free separation. Quite obviously, the individual components act coherently like a single being only when they all are interested in one particular goal. When most of them are busy with personal calculations and stuff, the Core's "personality" falls apart. Some of course completely vanish and merge here and there, but on the inside, there's quite a lot of those who have not yet abandoned their individuality.
BTW, I'm pretty sure the Core would love if some sufficiently advanced mind from the Sovereignity or elsewhere will poke it with a tightbeam.
It is also fascinated by the Collectors (who are a machine hivemind, but in the Core's view, bother themselves with ... stuff that is boring or "shallow"). So it's a mixture of respect and lack of understanding that directly translates into curiosity

The Bragulans' answer for the Core is to enact ULTIMATE BRAGULANIZATION! We throw our most patriotic bears to be ABSORBED by the Hive Mind, spamming it with so many patriotic Imperial brains until the Core is dominated by bear brains chanting praises to the Imperator!

That was a good one, Steve. Walter had it coming. They all had it coming!
But a part of me wishes that Kara'll save Katherine or something. They'd make an adorable couple.

Sorry. There's a reason why The (few) pictures of Grand Dominion 'Eavy 'etal have involved Terren Dominion Space Marines.

Stas:
This is an interesting storyline you're putting together, but I need a bit more time (out of game, mostly; in-game I see no reason not to have a Umerian response start some time around the beginning of February) before I'm ready to pursue the Umerian reaction to the Commune's diplomatic advances. I have at least two more significant posts I'd like to write wrapping up my existing Glowworm and Battle of Bannermann storylines before I tackle this.
That said, I certainly don't mind what you've done with the Umerian embassy. The crew we sent out aren't making a very impressive showing... but that stands to reason when we sent a nanotechnology expert as an ambassador and it turned out that we were going to need someone a bit more competent in astropolitics.
Basically, the Technocracy has been doing a lot of intelligence analysis on what it knows about the Commune, and that analysis is going to play a major role in their reaction. However, one thing that approaches certainty is that this will spur the Umerians to take a policy stance on the Central Alliance, something it had previously not been able to do due to a mix of government indecision and sheer distance.

That's true. Lonestar has a much better claim to be the Terran Confederacy or its successor states than the Bragulans do. That said, the look of Terran battlecruisers, the blocky, brutalist school of naval design, suits them marvelously.
I need to make an image of my capital ships; God knows I'll never find one online...

I have the unfortunate situation where the table top game is more popular than the Battlefleet Gothic game and that meant very very few pictures of Imperial warships.

I KNOW! Doesn't it just! And in page 7, I also basically claimed Terran Wraiths for Bragulan fighters!

What kind of aesthetics are we talking about? I've been searching for ship pics for a couple of days, but most of them weren't ugly enough to be Bragulan.

I posted a Terran Dominion propaganda poster on page 6, which should have been a whistle as to where I was going for styling.
