He was on earlier though, finally got my stream working and just caught the tail end of Rove being Rove.

Romney up 1.4 million or so PV, will the GOP take up electoral reform to ditch the Electoral College?

I can't believe that woman said we're becoming a more brown country on air. Seriously? You couldn't say ethnically diverse? Multiracial? The shifting demographic picture?

NC is at a 50/49 split Pro-Romney. With 94% of the votes in...tantalizingly close, but it looks like its going Red (not that it will matter in the end, with both Florida and Ohio looking to be going blue)

They keep showing the empty podium at Romney Headquarters on Fox. What does that tell us? :P

That Romney has better things to do (namely praying for divine intervention)?

They never have before, why start now? It has happened that the electoral college and the popular vote disagreed (1824, 1876, 1888, and 2000), the electoral college has always been what decided the race, except for 1824 where the House of Representatives made the call due to an electoral college tie. If that outcome was unprecedented maybe there would be a ghost of a chance, but the precedent is set.

Romney campaign seems to be on radio silence, not returning calls from Howard Fineman. They are sweating bullets right now.

The whole thing with the popular vote won't hold for long. California alone is enough to again tilt it towards Obama.

My reasoning is that if we were to suppose that the GOP were to stay as partisan as they have been of where they take up the opposite of the political reality, then they might take up Electoral Reform if it looks like that the EV may deny the GOP the Presidency for the forseeable future.

I admit its not likely, but it would be one of the few times they would do something right.

I read Wisconsin is now confirmed as won as well.

Can someone please do the count?

Colorado is at 51/47% Obama with 65% of the vote in. Even if Romney wins Virginia, Ohio, and Florida, it puts the EC at 272/266 Obama.

I think it's time to call the election.

I think the last time we voted red was for Regan in 84. In that election, only one state (WI I think) voted blue.

Acc. to CNN, it's 158 for Romney, and 147 for Obama.

Romney wins Missouri.

Fox gave Maine's last split EV to Obama. NBC has not called that one yet.

I think what makes this damning is, that Romney had pretty much spent his ammo at this point, while the ones that really count are tilting towards Obama.

I'm pretty certain, at this point, that Obama will have over 300 votes in the Electoral College, when all is said and done. It's going to be a decisive victory for him. If Florida tips to Romney, then it's 274 . . . either way, stick a fork in Romney, he's done. If he somehow wins, I'll eat my computer.

Just as well. Similar shenanigans as with Bush and Gore would be intolerable to go though again.

I almost wish Romney would win Ohio while losing the overall election, as it would diminish the specialness of Ohio and its perception of being somehow magic or something.

Ditto for Florida.

Wouldnt matter.

Both states have a decent number of votes, both states are usually tug of wars.
