Server bandwidth issues i think. Doesn't stop me from seeing pictures linked from them though, they do send the pictures, but not for everybody.

It's a free service. You get what you pay for. Bandwidth costs money, no matter how you slice it. Remote-linking pictures can eat up a lot of bandwidth. Just imagine if, rather than Darkstar posting a link to Mike's movie clip and remote-linking his images, Slashdot did it. Stardestroyer.net would be royally screwed.

Yeah, it's a pain, because Geocities and other free servers used to not care about it, but they've got to at least try and make some money out of this whole affair, and since money from advertising tanked a while back, they've got to cut costs. That means blocking remotely linked pictures, among other things. Basically, the biggest problem is that any and all remotely linked pictures don't allow ads to be shown, which means no revenue (potential or otherwise) for the cost of showing the picture.

Actually Raoul, I'll admit you're rather good looking, for a guy anyway (and a guy who isn't Me, but that's beside the point. ).

Also, feel free to bask in smug pride at the fact that, due to how my skin is acting up strangely this week, I'll have to forgo the 'rugged' look and shave in the next day or so. So the best I can do for new pictures this weekend will be the 'slightly peeved and tired' look.
