Preliminary Timeline
Gorn Coup
Shoom seclares support of Loyalists
UTR delcares for PLC
Fenris Resolultion declares for Loyalists
Resolution spaces for Gorn
Fifth Fleet spaces for Gorn
Kzin Prides arrive at Qu'NoS
Dexxtruss launches ground assault on Isstan
Resolution forces arrive at Gorn
Fith Fleet arrives at Gorn
Gorn Loyalist Council asks for Shoom Assitance
TSC sends diplomatic ship to UTR
Shoom Fleet launches
ACIN and others protest. UTR actions
I created this by just going through the thread and reviewing the posts made. The Shoom should be awhile away considering they're a quarter of the galaxy away and have no hyperlane to use. Since the nearest one to them would force them to travel through UTR space, which they can't do, it shouldn't be a quick voyage, especially since its all through the Great Waste.
'Gorn Loyalist Council asks for Shoom Assitance' most likely happened around the time of Dexxtruss launches ground assault on Isstan, but that's something only thirdfain would know.

A solar-powered weapon really can't pull in enough energy to hurt anything in this game. The collectors would have to be... well, friggin'
gigantic to gather enough power.
what if theyre like the ones in Wedges Gamble? you know the ones that sliced open the Golan Stations? and theyre not solar powered, theyre solar lenses, they just focus solar energy.
... Why don't you just stick with regular non-wacko weapons? Your nation doesn't need stupid make-shift solutions, it can afford to buy modern particle beam emplacements and orbital fortresses covered in turbolasers and missile silos.

You'd be amazed by how much this is A) not Star Wars, and B) ESPECIALLY not Stackpole-Star-Wars.

Hey! That space station i found! It's acutally centerpoint space station and this kid here figured out how to use it to blow up spaceships in my territory! Come get me now!
See how stupid that sounds?
Edit: What is "stackpole" star wars?

Nope.
Nieztchean Uber-Amoeba wrote:Nua looked over the reports. War was brewing. The Corsair Republic had been intimidated, but it woulde not lie forever. Terran ships were engaging the Fenari around the Gorn homeworld.
He sent a message out to the shipyards to step up production of Battleforce Thunder to maximum capacity. Quotas for fuel and mineral extraction were heightened ever so slightly across the Solidarity. But there were still a fw months to go until it was completed. But when war broke out, he would need all he had.
He went back over the data-files on this conflict over the Gorn Federation. He was sure that when Isstan needed his help, he would ask for it. He would not want to ruin any diplomatic chances by arriving in Gorn Space with a full battlefleet without any prior agreement or even notification. But when his allies called, he would be ready.
Relevenant parts bolded. I'd say thats pretty clear. The GLC had not asked for shoom help by the start of the battle for Gorn Prime.

stuff stackpole wrote into star wars in his x-wing novels and comic books, hated by some, tolerated by most, and liked by few... like me.
right I'll just plain get rid of those. just get normal defense platforms for me then.

Stackpole's a crappy writer whose idea of research is to play X-wing for a few hours. His understanding of the tech level of the
SW universe may not be the worst of any of the EU writers, but he puts more effort into stupidly contrived crap than any of the rest of them.
Take any of his tech details with a grain of salt the size of Ceres.

Unless they involve throwing Ceres at something, in which case that's somewhat academic.

Still missing where in there the TSC is supporting the UTR.

I don't see anything that might suggest the TSC might not be able to travel through Fenari space. I'm sure a warfleet wouldn't go through, but certainly a fast shuttle would travel along that route.
I see private statements of TSC concerns, and public statement of the Fenari and Gorn against the UTR, I notice nothing regarding the TSC. Kyle, why can't he use the Fenris hyperlane?
edit: or is it she?

In the public perception of the galaxy, the TSC is "in bed" with the UTR and the Entente. Therefore, lesser powers such as the Fenari don't look upon that very nicely (even though the Fenari were once part of the UTR) and so if the Fenari declare war on the UTR, the TSC is guilty by association.

That's a major hyperlane, doubly so since I doubt there's much traffic on the other lane, condering it passes through two war zones. I'd except some sort of statement from the Fenari saying any TSC ships caught in fenari territory will be confiscated or some such.

Not confiscated, but I'm certainly not allowed to use their hyperlane.
In this case, on the other hand, I'm pretty sure a diplomatic courier would be allowed through. I'll drop a line to Marcao, I think he'll rule that while Commonwealth shipping is blocked, they'd allow St. Juste to use their lane.
My two cents

I am inclined to agree with Thirdfain on this particular matter. The TSC certainly has earned itself some bad vibes due to their direct support for the UTR during the Klingon incident (I am sure that all nations have their own spin on it.)
However, I do not see any particular reason why a diplomatic ship would be barred from utilizing the fenari hyperlane, especially if they are made aware of what the mission of the said ship is as I have been led to believe.

Thats fine. But either way. There would have been some action in Gorn Space first. And thats my main point, before all that happens I want to see some resolution to the first act of the battle. Because even with the hyperlane open for the TSC, the Kzin should reach Gorn Prime beofre you courier speaks with the President. So we need to get the battle to that stage first, before going on with Justes little mission.

Just to clarify- Carrier strengths, total, for the two powers:
FR:
12 cruiser points, 10 escort points
UTR:
1 capship point, 6 cruiser points, 8.5 escort points.

Shoom fleet(to arrive in a few hours/days):
16 capital points
20 cruiser points
200 escort points

ive updated my OOB, now all i need to do is tell how many ships of each.
side note, i deguned but up-pointed the Triumph so now its definately not 1000 needles shooting at once. more like 200 wooden stakes.
any errors? suggestions? comments?
how do fighters count into an OOB anyway? do we get unlimited fighters or something?

Pablo Sanchez wrote:Kyle wrote:Thats fine. But first things first. The Battle for Gorn Prime.
In the time it takes to assemble a diplomatic team and send them to the UTR, without a hyperlane, the battle should be pretty much over. So lets get that done with first. I know STGOD time is very elastic but lets try and keep it somewhat plausible.
Do you want to simplify it and post the combined Entente fleet actions (UTR and Kzin) yourself? It would probably be easier than having to wait around for both of us.
I've been having problems with my Internet connection, so I'm gonna try and get as much done right now as I can before it goes out again.
Yeah I can post the Kzin if you want me too. I've also PMed Phong and he's given permission for the Entente to jointly control the SKS since he's rather busy right now.
anyway. This is the Kzin Fleet right?
2 Fleet Carriers
8 Fast Carriers
2 Dreadnoughts
4 First Class Battleships
6 Second-class battleships
10 Heavy Cruisers
18 Cruisers
12 Light Cruisers
4 Interdictor Cruisers
40 Heavy Destroyers
360 Destroyer-escorts
10 Landing-Assault Transports

Just so people don't get upset, the SKS when they arrive, will arrive after the Kzin do, but still before the Shoom considering the relative distances, plus SKS drive tech. As long as thats OK with the mods.

Well thats their fault for getting involved in a war on the other side of the galaxy from them, and then not finding some sort of forward base in the area to operate from. Especially when everything between is all part of the Great Waste.
