Haven't played for a while, but anyone got an opinion on the Na'kuhl ships? They seem to have battle cloak, which is going to be the only way for my Feddie toon to actually use battle cloak. One is available on the Lobi store, so all I have to do is purchase enough master keys and I will get sufficient lobi crystals. If I get master keys I will most probably open more Herald lock boxes to try and get a vonph (got the other two ships).

That's the Red Alert mission. The Featured Episode actually delves into their motivations and their actions in the 29th century that lead to the World War II two parter and the start of this arc.
Also, in the 25th century, they seem to be hinting that the alliance that formed from the Iconian war is akin to the Coalition of Planets from the Romulan war back in the 22nd century, that it will eventually lead to a great galactic government formed by the major powers. Well, they've certainly got enough enemies already established to keep people busy. I mean, no new content has really been released that prominently features Klingon-Federation-Romulan Republic conflict since, oh, 2012.

Technically there is getting the Defiant line from the C-Store; all the consoles together will give you a Battle Cloak. Of course that requires multiple consoles (and the quad phaser cannons) rather than being built in.
But I just wanted to make sure you were aware of alternatives.

Hell getting the defiant line might even come cheaper if you don't get really lucky with the boxes, haven't checked the one in the lobi store as I don't get the keys (or the funds) to open my boxes.

I'm guessing they couldn't afford George Takei then?
I hope we get a couple of extra character slots, all of mine are full- I have pretty much every combination of faction and specialism. As it stands I could probably lose my KDF sci as it's the least developed
EDIT: Maybe this will finally put and end to people demanding a T6 version of the Constitution class ship. I'm not holding my breath though

And how will this work if you go Romulan or KDF? Or will it be Starfleet only?
Still, it's a nice move. I might reboot it up (and spend about a week downloading updates before I can actually play) for that...

They generally give at least one extra character slot for things like this. Possibly two combined with the Temporal Recruit thing.

That's going to be interesting, especially when you're seeing the eps we all know and love from the Klingon point of view. I can't wait to see how they handle Klingon forehead ridges

With the latest event now well and truly underway, the exchange rate is going to increase even further- the way it's going it'll pass the 400:1 mark before the event's over. A couple of my characters have 100k unrefined dil- not for the first time I've wanted to spread the load.

Well, the annual summer event starts on the 9th, which is Thursday. The ship is apparently a Vorgon Xyfius Heavy Escort. I was hoping for another Risian ship, as I would actually have the opportunity to earn it. Instead, we deal with the time travellers race from the first Risa episode. Oh well, it'll be nice to earn lohlunats again by making sand castles.

Presumably the CE event will finish at the same time. I just hope I can finally put a dent in the huge quantity of unrefined ore each of my toons has accrued- though at the rate of inflation my the time I do refine it all, it'll be completely worthless. It's only a matter of time before PWE decides it's a good idea to raise the dil to zen cap.

I don't even know what the fuck a Vorgon is. Vogon would be interesting, I've always wanted to drive a miles-long yellow brick and indulge a taste for execrable poetry, but Vorgons? It's a pretty little boat, I suppose...

I can't help but wonder, is there any upper bound beyond which it stops being to PWE's advantage for the dilithium:zen ratio to be very high? Do they have any incentive to not just run it way the hell up and keep it there?

the way I see it there's no clear hard cap after which it stops being advantage to have high dil:zen conversion rate but higher the conversion rate less people are willing to try the store in a "safe" way and thus less people are willing to use money to buy things from the store even if all who use the conversion system won't or can't buy zen normally.

Allegedly, the maximum is 500 dilithium: 1 Zen. So it'll hit a ceiling eventually, unless they raise that cap.

Isn't a high dil-to-zen rate basically devaluing/inflating dilithium as a currency, though? Dil is still useful on the Exchange to some degree, at least, but I don't know how much people are using that versus just buying stuff with Zen...
